Located one mile from Abu Simbel Temples, Hllol Hotel Abu Simbel offers 3-star accommodations in Abu Simbel and features a garden, a restaurant and a bar. Free WiFi and room service are featured. The manager and staff were very kind and accommodating. My flight got massively delayed arriving at Aswan so my original booking with the hotel to for a private car to the hotel had been impacted. Despite this, the manager and staff actively communicated with me to make sure my friend and I get to the hotel safely after dark. The manager also arranged for us to go on a really nice sunset boat trip then the early minivan trip back to Aswan. Overall it is very helpful to have the local manager's help in getting around and his english is good. We enjoyed our stay and am glad it's the first hotel we stayed in Egypt.
Hotel in Abu Simbel ( 2.1 miles)
Located in Abu Simbel, 1.4 miles from Abu Simbel Temples, Kabara Nubian House has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. All, everything is perfect, the hospitality, staff very very friendly, very close from the temples but if you don't want walk, the hotel has a tuk tuk. The hotel is beautiful and very clean. If you are looking a real Nubian experience, this is the place. We lost the 1st night and the owner offered stay one night more. The road to Abu Simbel is close for tourists at 5pm so if you arrive in Aswan late (between 4-5 pm)to be pickup by a taxi, is impossible you can go to Abu Simbel, is better you stay one night in Aswan and Next day Go. You can arrange everything with the hotel, taxi and stay one night in Aswan, also they have a new beautiful nubio hotel in Aswan. Thank you very much to owner and all team Kabara Nubian House.
A must visit historical place with a experience of a lifetime. We visited the sun festival on 22nd February 2024. Though initially we were disappointed with the long queue, the queue moved up easily and we were able to see the rays from 'Ra' shinning on the three statues. While waiting at the queue take time off frrom gazing at the magnificient temple to look east towards the "Ra" rising over the lake. The paintings on the walls are flawless specially more so when you begin to imagine that they were done thousands of years ago. Must visit the nefartari temple. Try the coffee by Lake Nasser.
Definitely recommend staying overnight here. We booked a driver to take us (group of 3 adults and 2 children) leaving at 9:30am from Aswan, stopping for a quick 10mins at Aswan High Dam on the way, and then going to our guest house (Kabara Nubian Lodge) for lunch. We then went to the temples for about 3pm - this was definitely a good time to go as there were hardly any people there and by about 4:45pm we were able to get solo photos inside and outside the temples. We returned back to Kabara for dinner and then our driver took us back to see the light show - which I'd recommend. You also get to take a few night shots of the temple lit up. I chose to get up in the morning to view the temple at 6am, as this is when the light hits the front. This aspect definitely did look good - but when I arrived at about 6:05am there were already a couple of coach tours on site and by the time I left at around 7am it was super crowded with at least 15 coach loads of people. I hate to think how busy it would have been by 8am! It was definitely the right choice to visit the day before in the afternoon!
The hotel was excellent. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly. The rooms were excellent, the pools beautiful and food and drinks great. The location was just what we wanted and our visits to the Temples went very very well. The proximity to the lake was a real highlight. Will go back one day. I hope
In my case it was a check on my to do list. Went from Luxor day one, over night in Abu Simbel town and day 2 visit the tempel for 2 hours, then back to Luxor, a trip 2 x 500 km. Interesting to have seen, impressive story!
Abu Simbel is truly breathtaking. We visited around noon on a blessed day during Ramadan, so there weren't many tourists. At times, it felt like we had the entire sites to ourselves. You can walk or take a transport cart to the sites.
Visit the temples in the afternoon (after 03.00pm) because the is nobody (except perhaps some extroverted sceaming chinese girls - but once they are gone). Yes, it´s hotter than in the morning and the light is not prefect. but you will have the temple for yourself and you will be able to make perfect photos from inside.
