This is an excellent boutique property with reasonable tariff. I was there only from morning to late evening so had requested an early checkin. They not only provided me the room 2 hours early but also offered me the complimentary breakfast the same as I was going to checkout in the late evening itself. The staff is courteous and polite. The rooms are excellent, quite spacious and cozy. The food is nice too.

Make the most of a stopover! Get inspired by reviews of cities near Vijayawada Airport (VGA)

I recently visited Vijayawada and was pleasantly surprised...
I recently visited Vijayawada and was pleasantly surprised by how much this bustling city has to offer. It beautifully blends tradition with modernity, making it a great destination for all kinds of travelers.
Highlights:
Kanaka Durga Temple – Perched on Indrakeeladri Hill, the temple is spiritually uplifting. The cable car ride offers stunning views of the city and the Krishna River.
Prakasam Barrage – A picturesque spot, especially during sunset. Walking along the barrage and watching the river flow is incredibly relaxing.
Undavalli Caves – Just a short drive away, these ancient rock-cut caves are a marvel of architecture and history.
Bhavani Island – A perfect getaway within the city. Boating, cycling, and peaceful greenery make it ideal for families.
Food lovers, rejoice!
The local Andhra cuisine is fiery and flavourful. Don't miss pulihora (tamarind rice), gongura mutton, and crispy punugulu. The roadside biryani stalls and eateries like Star Biryani are absolute gems.
Getting around – The city is well-connected with auto-rickshaws, Ola/Uber, and local buses. The new Vijayawada railway station and airport make travel easy.
Things to keep in mind – It can get hot and crowded, so plan outdoor sightseeing early in the morning or late in the evening. Also, be prepared for spicy food (it’s worth it!).
Overall, Vijayawada left me with warm memories. It’s energetic, cultural, and full of character—a must-visit in Andhra Pradesh!

Good sights - Krishna river bridge, Sitaram ghat,...
Good sights - Krishna river bridge, Sitaram ghat, Kanakadurga temple, Bapu museum, drive to Mangalagiri and Undavalli caves. If I had more time, would have gone to Amaravati also. Proper veg restaurants near Prakasam Barrage were not many. Had to order on Zomato. Non veg options are good. Autos are many.

Colonial name of the city is Bezawada.
Colonial name of the city is Bezawada. The name "Vijayawada" translates to “Land of Victory”.
Takes about 1 hour from the Airport to the City Centre.
The heat and humidity in Vijayawada get unbearable.
The Bapu Museum, formerly known as the Victoria museum, is a must-visit spot for history enthusiasts.
Built-in the year 1887, along with its ancient relic exhibits, is fascinating This very museum is the spot where Pingali Venkayya presented the Indian Flag colors to Mahatma Gandhi in 1921. The very flag was then adopted to become the National Flag during independence!
