Stayed here for 3 nights along my way around the Ring Road to slow down and rest for a couple days. I stayed at a lot of cool places in Iceland and this was my favorite. Absolutely loved the location, the space itself, how cozy/comfortable it was and how quiet it was nestled in nature and 10 minute drive to Husavik. Large enough for a small family and small enough for solo traveler.

Boasting garden views, Cabin in the lava. Near Húsavík is situated in Husavik, around 12 km from Husavik Golf Club. This is a truly fabulous place, completely dark and quiet, and we were incredibly privileged to see the northern lights for three September nights on the trot, getting brighter each night. The cabin is well-equipped, and we very much enjoyed our stay. We did not use the BBQ or outdoor heaters but they were there if we had wished to use them. We went whale watching, and GeoSea (hubby not sure if he fancied it, but we went when it opened and it was lovely and quiet. Very nice spa as it is sea water and so does not smell like sulphur... in case the smell bothers you. Hubby agreed afterwards that it was a highlight of our holiday).

We truly enjoyed our stay — the house is spacious, comfortable, and perfectly tucked away in nature, which gave us the privacy and peace we were looking for. We also loved the outdoor seating and the cozy atmosphere overall.

Laxhús is situated in Laxamýri, 85 km from Akureyri. Free private parking is available on site. Husavik is 8 km away. All units feature a flat-screen TV. Some units have a seating area and/or terrace.... The dog and the sheep in the pasture

Boasting mountain views, Vetursetur is set in Laxamýri, around 15 km from Husavik Golf Club. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. This cabin is not the most modern and chic but it felt so cosy and authentic. The lava formations around it were magical and it made for a great first base for us in Iceland and we stayed 2 nights - we really felt like we'd arrived somewhere really different. We love wildlife and were delighted to find a snipe on the porch on the first evening, loads of golden plover (including chicks), redwing and curlew. It was super cold when we arrived (weather obviously not the fault of the owner!) - about 4 degrees C in July, the wind was really going for it too - the small radiators were on and we quickly found the heater and were very cosy in no time. The bedrooms are very compact as is the bathroom but everything worked and was comfortable. We loved the inclusion of a good bean to cup coffee maker too. The location was excellent for days out in Husavik and Myvatn, we would have been happy to even have stayed a bit longer. It is off the beaten track, but the owner gave us super clear directions and we had no trouble finding it at all.

Featuring free WiFi and a barbecue, Skógar Sunset Guesthouse offers accommodation 13 km from Húsavík. Each self-catering studio features a kitchen with a stove top, microwave and fridge. Easy to access. Comfortable, well-equipped, room clean and spacious.

Set in Húsavík, within 42 km of Godafoss Waterfall and 4.4 km of Husavik Golf Club, Saltvík Farm Guesthouse offers accommodation with a terrace as well as free private parking for guests who drive. It’s quaint right outside of town. We were there in October and drove through a blizzard (literally) and got there a little late so we didn’t see anyone but a cute little sticky with a room key with our name. The shared kitchen had everything needed to cook a nice meal from the grocery store just 1/2 mile away. We had room 4 which had a great picture window where we did see northern lights. Now it is a converted cow shed so not a typical hotel so go with mindset of a unique Iceland experience.

Set in Húsavík in the North Iceland region and Godafoss Waterfall reachable within 45 km, Kaldbaks-kot cottages offers accommodation with free WiFi, a children's playground, water sports facilities... May very well be the best place we stayed at during our iceland trip. Really cute cottages in the heart of nature. Great birding&fishing opportunities right in front of the cottages.
