Flying from Netherlands to Sweden was much cheaper with a transfer at Gdansk. We had to stay a night in Gdansk before we continued our journey to Sweden. This hotel was perfect for this purpose. Very close to the airport and only 20 minutes away from the Gdansk city centre by taxi/Uber.
Common trip in early morning to come back to UK, so the place was convenient enough, to lay my body down in the evening and wake up and have a shower and get straight away to the airport and fall asleep again in the aircraft. Such a simple explanation... :-) The below answer is gonna be very sarcastic.
A very nice Old Town, with a lot of things to do Public transportation very well interconnected, try to but the 24H ticket to visit more of the Town, the routes are well informed and the online app is very helpful Several free WiFi spots in Town and a lot of restaurants with local food
I recommend Sleep and Fly if you have a very early or a very late flight into Gdansk airport. It is truly a 5 min walk from the airport door. The airport is very nice and has a change bureau and several very basic food stores outside the security line, and inside the waiting to board area there are even more food and souvenirs options. The staff at Sleep and Fly is kind and helpful. The room is basic but clean. The hotel was quiet. It has a nice field in front and you can sit and sip a dink before going to bed. There is the bus 122 that takes you straight to Sopot beach. 45 minutes. So you can stay here and enjoy nature and parks and go down to Gdansk or other beaches easily from this hotel. Recommended.
The hotel is a hundred meters or so from both the airport and the railway station The hotel is modern and designed by someone at the top of the profession. The dinner menu is not big but is quality food well served. The bedrooms are exceptional, and have all comforts and amenities. The railway is the main line between Gdansk and Gydinya. Rail connections are many and effecient in Gydinya. I travelled 85 km to Jastarnia for less than £5.
Gdańsk is a lovely place with charming neighborhoods, great restaurants, and friendly people. One of the nicest cities I’ve visited in Poland. I felt safe and relaxed the entire time, it was well worth the trip. I walked a lot and also drove around quite a bit, including a visit to Sopot, which was lively and fun. I had delicious ramen at Gyozilla, an amazing donut in Sopot, and enjoyed tea from a few gas stations along the way. Thank you, Gdańsk. I’ll be back.
