Changi Airport (SIN) Information

Location and Transport

Changi Airport is Singapore’s main aviation hub, and can be found 11 miles (17 kilometres) northeast of Marina Bay, the capital’s Downtown. To get there, travellers can hop on the MRT train, changing at Tanah Merah Interchange. Trains run every 10 minutes. Alternatively, you could take the 36/37A bus, which stops at all terminals and runs every 10-12 minutes, or a taxi from outside Arrivals.

There are plenty of hotels located inside Changi Airport, in case you need to stay the night before a connecting flight. There’s plenty on offer to keep you entertained before takeoff too. From innovative art installations to a 24-hour cinema, Changi Airport is essentially a one-stop entertainment hub. Terminals 1-3 even have their own rooftop gardens, with plant species from all over the world and incredible views of planes taxiing along the runways.

Changi Airport currently has four main passenger terminals, with Terminal 4 being the newest, having opened in 2017. All terminals are connected by a free Skytrain service, which operates every five minutes from 05.00 to 02.30.

The main activities are eating seafood, watching the sunset, enjoying the sea, and camping For seafood, you can use Google Maps to find small local eateries instead of big restaurants. The prices are cheaper, the food is quite good, and it has a more homely, friendly feel There are several small zoos in Pengerang, with ticket prices around RM20–35. They are suitable for taking kids to visit and have close contact with different animals. It’s a great place for city children to experience, and it’s very good value for money It is best to avoid visiting during Malaysian public holidays, otherwise there will be heavy crowds and traffic jams. The beach will be lined with campers, and you will need to queue for food and activities. It is much better to go when there are fewer people so you can fully enjoy and experience the trip at a slower pace.

Singapore is in a world of its one.

Singapore is in a world of its one. The country is not like any other in Asia It is spotlessly clean, the people are very friendly, I as a female travelled alone and so had the impression that I would not stay out after dark , but once in the Singapore I felt very safe and was able to stay out until gone 9pm so as to watch the light show. Its so easy to get around on the bus or MRT. Beautiful gardens by the bay are not to be missed very futuristic. The harbour is a nice place to relax .Whereas China Town is well worth a visit for souvenirs and food of course. The light show by the Marina must be seen as I found this surprisingly very emotional. The beach is a little small but very clean so I did mange to paddle for a while All in all a wonderful place to visit no matter what you want to see

Many restaurants available nearby hotel, so the traveller guest can select the place according to his/her individual choice of food. I generally used to eat at restaurant OSMAN OR restaurant HABIB. Try to have some Food/Beverage at Restoran BANAFEE Seri Alam near TODAY's mall. One can buy fresh fruits and other necessary shopping at TODAY's mall nearby. Pharmacy shops are available nearby in walking distance, which is very good. Possible for the travellers to connect to other cities in Malaysia from TBPG (Terminal Bas Pasir Gudang).

Those love the nature, quiet and peaceful place will be happy to come here. Really peaceful. They also have lots of seafood restaurants and fresh cooking. Delicious. Not fussy person, I think it will be good to come here and escape from busy hectic life schedule in town.

Spent 6 wonderful days in Singapore after a holiday in...

Spent 6 wonderful days in Singapore after a holiday in Sydney. Extremely hot and humid so beware. There is not a great deal you can do about that if you want to explore this beautiful country. Plenty to see and do for all, just plan to do everything at a slower pace. Beautiful, friendly, clean, organised city with fantastic transport links (MRT is the extremely clean and easy to use underground network, buses, and we used UBER lots! Download the APP.). What a treat to visit here. Enjoyed just about everything we did, but some highlights were the Night Safari, River Wonders (home of the Giant Pandas), Cloud Forest (Jurassic Park themed) & Gardens by the Bay. Kids will. love all of these. Had 2 daytime walking tours with 'On A Roll Tours' led by the very friendly and knowledgeable 'Ping' - highly recommended for adults, I wouldn't recommend for younger children. Thoroughly enjoyed the Battlebox at Fort Canning, as well as the old Ford Factory Museum. Off the beaten track, but visited the Kranji War cemetery and Changi Chapel Museum. All well worth the extra travel time and highly recommended if interested in history and WWII. The Hawker Centre of Lau Pa Sat has to be visited and try the Satay skewers. Iconic Raffles Hotel for a Singapore Sling at the Long Bar, and Afternoon Tea in the Grand Lobby is a must (recommend booking in advance, check the dress code - no open toe shoes/sandals/flip flops etc). A real treat. If you like quirky, then a visit to Haw Par Villa (Tiger Balm Gardens) is a must. Note: currently some of the park is closed awaiting refurbishment. Only one disappointment was visiting Universal Studios, which was very small in comparison to the USA (was expected) but some rides were not in operation. Those that were consequently had long queuing times. Not ideal in the hot, humid climate of Singapore. A morning was long enough to visit here. Overall, a great holiday and many happy memories made.

.There was many restaurant nearby.I had breakfast at Hua Mui,it is less then 2mins driving and the food is good and we like it.It was easy for us to go to the city and nearby places have a very nice landscape.There is mosque,lake and garden nearby.

The limousine service is too expensive.

The limousine service is too expensive. The guy told us its the same rate with other providers. However, it was way too expensive. A grab on the same Alphard costs only 20 sgd and the provider at the airport charges 70 sgd for a 30 min ride

Had a wonderful stay at Crowne Plaza Changi Airport Hotel. The location is excellent—conveniently connected to the airport, making it perfect for early morning flights. The property is very comfortable, and well-maintained. The room was spacious and relaxing, providing a great place to rest, and the pool is fantastic and a great place to relax after a busy day of sightseeing or before a flight. We had a relaxing stay and would definitely recommend it.

Well situated and easy to get to from Changi Airport by MRT. Young, funky vibe. Excellent staff. Sung, modern, well worn room was compact but has everything you needed but NO fridge. Excellent shower and bidet. Walking distance to Raffles Centre, The National Museum, Art Gallery and Orchard Road - we visited them all. The hotel is in a very extensive Mall with many shops including a huge range of eating options and a small supermarket..

The position of the hotel was easy to get to by MRT to City Hall and Changi Airport. The staff were also very accommodating when my flight had an early arrival and they rewarded me with a lovely view room as I had to wait until a room became available.

Excellent location, opposite Bencoolen MRT exit, close to walk to Bras Basah MRT too. Can easily reach this hotel using MRT from Changi Airport (with one change) but taxi is quicker. Clean, comfortable, moody lighting, sufficient room for two people, bathroom is compact but adequate. Bugis shopping area is about 10min walk away. My elderly father required a shower chair which they provided promptly, so the service was much appreciated. Staff were pleasant and helpful.
