1. Porcelain Hotel was a nasty experience. The room was atrociously small without space to put our luggages and other stuffs. There's no cupboard to hang our clothes. The cleaner couldn't make our bed because of one of our luggage that had to sleep with us because of the lack of space. 2. Marina Bay was our favourite place and Chinatown was great. 3. We ate around Chinatown and Clarke Quay. 4. The MRT is easy to navigate and cheap. 5. Avoid hotels like and especially Porcelain Hotel. They did not let us know prior of our complaint and disquiet.
Favourite place to be this trip to Singapore was the Pan Pacific Hotel where we stayed. Coming back after a long day shopping/touring was so relaxing - great dining and wonderful chilling out at the Atrium long bar or at the gym. The heavy remote controlled roman blinds were great for keeping the room dark for a sleep in. Never had the same meal twice in our 5 days - so much choice for absolutely exquisite food [and cocktails] in Singapore. Dined/toured Sentosa Island, Seafood at the east coast, gardens by the bay, marina bay sands hotel, shopping at numerous stores in Orchard Road/Marina Square/Suntec City, afternoon tea at the Goodwood Park Hotel, dinner at the Grand Hyatt. Catching a cab to get around was ever so easy - much cheaper than back here in Australia! Best dining experience was at the Japanese restaurant at the Pan Pacific hotel itself, also served the best cocktails. Shopping centres were open from 10am to 10pm every day - a bonus. Singapore is the only place in the whole world we feel 100% safe - never once did I feel I had to have a secure hold of my handbag. Only place in the world a spot at a table in a food hall is reserved with one's mobile phone left on top of the table. Women jog in the streets alone at 11pm at night. Amazing.
Singapore is a clean and tidy place, with fantastic food places catering for all tastes and budgets. Most hotels have small rooms, but this is common in Asia. Boutique hotels are full of character, and that adds a charm to Singapore that is often missed if you choose to stay in a larger hotel chain. The shopping in the malls is an eye-opener, but way too pricey for us......but, it is, of course, full of brand names. The hawker centres are the complete opposite, offering genuine Asian cuisine at very. very cheap prices! Sentosa is very touristy, but is full of fun things to do if you can cope with the heat and a few hills. The people of Singapore dress immaculately and the cars are amazing.....no dungers here! A great place to stay a night or two before and after cruising. Taxi's are very reasonable and make travelling around Singapore comfortable.
As eating is one of Singapore's favourite past-times, there is certainly not a shortage of dining genres and options available. From the hawker centres to the the trendy celebrity chefs, Singapore will certainly satisfy your taste buds and budget! Lau Pa Sat hawker centre has a bustling vibe with a mix of tourists and locals flocking in for some cheap eats! (try the chicken rice and chilli crab). If you want to stay in a great location but the budget doesn't stretch as far as the Marina Bay Sands hotel, the Holiday Inn Express Clarke Quay is a brilliant alternative. Central to most things with China Town and Clarke Quay restaurants within walking distance. Rooms are on the smaller side but the beds are comfortable and the staff will always greet you with a welcoming smile in the lobby or on your way to breakfast! Plus, you can still access that breathtaking view the MBS has to offer with a 'sky park' pass. Getting around Singapore is easy with great access to the MRT bus/train. If you're one for convenience, grab an inexpensive air conditioned cab which will always be available. Try to pay with MasterCard if not opting for cash as few cabs accept VISA. If you don't have an endless supply of money, avoid Orchard Rd shopping district and head over to the IMM outlet. Discounts of up to 80% on popular brands. 313@Somerset (actually along Orchard rd) will also offer international brands at a much more affordable price. Same with Vivo City opposite Sentosa Island. Recommended Attractions - (allow 1 week): Universal Studios, Sentosa Island, The Flyer (at night), Raffles Hotel Long Bar (Singapore Sling), Lau Pa Sat, China Town, Singapore River Cruise, Zoo, Gardens by the Bay.
Singapore is a great place for family with young kids. Very clean and tidy. They should adopt Thailand and Vietnam taxi services that cater for group of 6 people as we don't have to take 2 taxi each time. We were traveling with grandparents. Prices of hotels are very expensive in Singapore. $1000+ (AUD) for 4 night stay in Carlton City Hotel. Two rooms. Can't really stay for too long of a holiday.
Fantastic, vibrant city with friendly people and amazing places! Everything is well organized and clean, felt really safe even at night walking alone in parks. I loved the green environment, the efficient ways of transport, both taxis and public transport. Favourite bar is 1Altitude, an openair rooftop bar on 63rd floor with 360 panoramic view. Great restaurant chain is Halia with amazing food creations and more outlets around the city. Must visit is Raffles Hotel for a nice but expensive Singapore Sling. Great nightlife in Clarke Quay bars and clubs! The only thing I will avoid is renting a hotel room without a window...that is wicked...

The property is strategically located in the heart of Chinatown. It is easy to find affordable food all around the vicinity. A few steps to Pagoda street where you can buy souvenir items at a very low price. My room was just the perfect size for me. Aircon and lighting were superb. The staff is very approachable and gave me a warm welcome. Looking forward to my next visit to Singapore and this hotel is going to be my home there.

According to my dad who was the one who stayed here (I just booked the hotel roomfor him), it was one of the best hotels he have stayed in Singapore. It's a but of a splurge but given the fact that he was attending a convention that was near Marina Bay Sands, this was the best choice for him because he was near the venue and got a nice hotel to stay in (definitely a 5 star one for my dad) without breaking the bank.

The staff was very helpful. We forgot our wallet in the local public taxi. The front desk staff immediately helped us by contacting the local taxi customer care. We didnt remember the taxi no. But still he somehow figured it out. And we got our wallet back in an HR. That's unbelievable!! Very very grateful to the staff. Also the hotel location is good. Good budget eating joints nearby. Hotel very clean and nice.

Our room was huge. Bigger than same star hotels in Singapore. Love that this hotel is very close to MRT and Food republic. Also close to Cathay and Plaza Singapura. Our deluxe room had blow dryer, iron and iron board, slippers, toothbrush and toothpaste and liquid soap inside a dispenser. Front desk lady was very nice and pleasing and the cleaning ladies were all great and very meticulous.

Singapore is expensive and for this price you won’t have to compromise on location and room size. The compromise is that the hotel is in bad need of a renovation. Nicer hotels in the area go for twice the price. Get a club room if it’s not much more - you get free drinks between 6-8pm. And high tea too (although we didn’t try this). There is an outdoor pool which is nice.

They always clean the room everyday, in front desk office people were so nice and give us so much inform about bus number and place to go, also the hotel is just in front of the bus station, the lobby was smell soooo well (the room parfume,I guess) The bed is very comfy, clean, and tidy. The TV is quite big n there are so many channels inside

Close to everything. Minutes away from the popular sights in Singapore, Boat Quay and CBD. Raffles MRT is 5 minutes walk. Room is superb and luxurious. I love that bathroom have Toto washlet! Facilities are great, swimming pool, gym, spa. One of the best luxury hotels I've stayed in in Asia.

Smallish hotel, but has a nice pool. Rooms are quite big comparing to other same grade hotels in Singapore. 5-8 mins walk to train station and free shuttle service to nearby stations and botanical garden were useful. Staffs were helpful. Breakfast was good and sufficient

This hotel is a classic ‘compromise’. There are better appointed hotels in Singapore however none of them match the combination of excellent location and competitive pricing of this hotel

The Front desk staff are great. I think the Albert Court is one of the best value for money hotels in Singapore and I have stayed in many others so a good judge..
