FAQs about hotels in Singapore

Asia in a Compact Package

Clean, compact and compelling, Singapore seamlessly combines the best of Asia. Different cultures and cuisines live side by side, whilst maintaining their own identity.

Behind the bright lights of Chinatown is great value dim sum, while Little India is a sensation for the senses. Wander past the pastel-painted facades of Malay-dominated Geylang Seari for a taste of days gone by, then stop off at the Colonial-style Raffles Hotel, birthplace of the Singapore Sling cocktail.

For a retreat from the hustle and bustle, take the cable car to the sandy beaches of Sentosa, an island just south of the city centre. Also here is Universal Studios Singapore, a theme park brimming with the magic of the movies.

As you’d expect from the host of the world’s only Formula 1 night race, once night falls, Singapore is still very much alive. Its Night Safari is a zoo offering the rare chance to see nocturnal animals going about their business.

Although small enough to see on foot, Singapore has an efficient public transport system which extends as far as Singapore Changi Airport. With a choice of Singapore accommodation ranging from budget hostels to luxury hotels, Booking.com is bound to have the right choice for your holiday.

    We love Singapore.

We love Singapore. It's very clean, safe with beautiful plantings and amazing architecture. There are so many things to do including the zoo and night zoo, the gardens by the bay, taking the gondola over to Sentosa Island (for Universal Studios, the Aquarium and the water park). There are also lots of free activities such as visiting the botanical gardens and Fort Canning park, strolling through the streets of Little Indian, Chinatown, Arab Street and Orchard Road(for the shopping). Take a walk through the amazing Fullerton Hotel and past the infamous Raffles Hotel. Lou Pa Sat is a must visit Hawker food market for an evening cheap meal.

Travellers should be prepared for high temperatures and high humidty but the rewards make the suffering worthwhile. We only scratched the surface of things to do but would highly recommend the Zoo and the Botanic Gardens and Chinatown is well worth a morning stroll. A visit to the Long Room at the Raffles Hotel should not be missed nor should the Singapore Sling! The river can be explored either on foot on both banks or by a boat taxi or out and back boat trip of around 40 minutes. The south bank offer a myriad of eating opportunities although the constant attention of waiters trying to entice you into their establishment can be irritating. We only discovered the excellent MRT on the last two days having mainly used GRAB ( the Singapore version of UBER) to move around. The ease of travel on the metro was amazing simply using a credit card and the cost was extremely low.

    VERY IMPRESSIVE LOCALE.

VERY IMPRESSIVE LOCALE. WE JUDGE BY THE AMOUNT OF POLICE/ARMY AND GRAFFITTI...IN SINGAPORE, THERE IS NO GRAFFITTI. THIS IS A WEALTHY, SAFE PLACE TO VISIT. WE USED "GRAB"(THE LOCAL UBER), AND WALKED EVERYWHERE.

We discovered the purple train line is directly opposite the hotel (underground). We discovered it by accident while looking around. We used it to move around and take us to the airport too! We lived Singapore- Singapore knows how to put on public events and art! Loved Gardens by the Bay. The Paradox is a great central location to a good 6-8 km radius of sight seeing in all directions! Easy to walk and find things with a map too.

    The room is too small.

The room is too small. Not even walking space inside the room. I requested early check- in a month ago. Still have to wait for till 13:30 pm indie the lobby from morning. It’s not worth for money I paid. Won’t be coming back again.

    Unbelievably clean city!

Unbelievably clean city! Safe, transportation is spectacular and inexpensive. The building architecture is incredible. This is a model of how to build a city and a society. The national museum had a special section emphasizing being respectful and supportive of people with alzhaimers. The museum also tackled the excessive use of plastics. This island nation recycles everything possible, then makes non;loadbraring concrete from the ahs produced by burning garbage. And yes they scrub the combustion air and produce energy from the burning. After taking a tremendous risk to build a world-class airport 43 years ago, they are at it again in building a world-class shipping facility that will be largely automated and, hence wildly efficient. Owner occupancy of over 90% of its residents! WHat!? I'm from the US where corporations are being our house ing and turning us into a nation of renters. Leadership looks like this. Based upon what is best for all citizens, not just the powerful.

We booked the hotel when we could not get on a flight fm Singapore to Sydney at Changi Airport. Price was reasonable for a stay of 6-7 hours (overnight). Airport Hotels in Singapore are expensive; Hotel 81 staff were efficient n room met our needs for the purpose of our stay. Also, it’s on a busy street with local restaurants, coffee shops in vicinity even though we didn’t need it but the room was very quiet, possibly because we requested it n got a room not facing the Main Street. Reception staff were responsive and helpful.

Hotel was basic but great for what we paid, we used it as a stop over between flights and having stayed in Singapore earlier during the holiday this hotel is a little bit far from main attractions but looked like it had lots of local restaurants to try. The bed was quite hard and personally I don’t think I could have taken it for more than one night but for the price, if you are looking for a basic room in Singapore this does the trick!

Location is great, very, very close to Bencoolen MRT Room size is fantastic, one of the biggest advantages of the older hotels is that the newer hotels try to put too many rooms into too small a space. Strand Hotel was comfortable for even week-long stays. Air conditioning worked great, a must in always hot Singapore. Front desk staff were very helpful with any questions and calling up to the room about food deliveries.

This hotel is just great in many different ways. Location is right in the core of Singapore. We could walk anywhere from the hotel. We got upgraded to a suite since the hotel had full occupancy. That was a perfect way to start our stay in Singapore. Room cleaning service was excellent. Staff was very attentive and efficient. Beds were comfortable and facilities were worth the money we paid. We’d stay again.

Comfortable room with deluxe bathroom set up. Great location. If travelling Singapore airlines they have 24 hour bag check. We dropped our larger bags the night before our flight and went from bed to gate in 30 minutes carrying just an overnight bag. We received a warm welcome at check-in from Chase. Our downtown hotel was about as welcoming as a 7-11 so this stood out. Thanks Chase.
