Nice clean property, very nice staff, but no weatherstrip under entry door to room, allowing noise and light to bleed thru all night. Also, the closet door and door to the bathroom were not properly adjusted and rubbed a great deal or were difficult to latch. Finally, the placement of the shower head was not done well. It shoots water towards the shower curtain. Water ended up flooding the floor in the bathroom. The next morning

It was my first time to Port Royal SC.
It was my first time to Port Royal SC. It was a very quiet town with grocery shopping and a few restaurants near by. I loved the Sunday morning church bells. We flew in to Savannah/Hilton Head airport and drove over. Super simple. We enjoyed it so much we are looking at property there.

Hilton Head has a lot to do for those visiting. They have parking right near the beach that's free. Coligony Plaza has plenty of restaurants and shopping. It's walkable with plenty choices. If you forget something, there's a Piggly Wiggly supermarket in Coligony Plaza just in case you wanted to buy groceries. If you want more food and shopping choices, I would suggest the Palmetto Bay Marina. It's a short drive and if you wanted to go do a dolphin tours you can sign up there or if you want to eat by the water, my choice is the Black Marlin. Great seafood and foods.

What is there not to enjoy, value, love??! So quaint the downtown area and then drive but a few minutes or so and you are in Hilton Head! We loved the OKATIE ALE RESTAURNANT--so fun in the early evening with music on the patio and TIKI the alligator below the deck! SO FUN THERE!
Then we enjoyed 100% HUDSONS ON THE DOCK; we were seated outside on the deck with a view of the water and service and food were off the charts! Even the manager, Chris, came by and chatted with us--so warm, and kind and fun. THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR HELPING MY HUSBANDS 71ST BIRTHDAY SURPRISE A SUCCESS!!!!

Heavy traffic for miles getting in and out - even at the end of October.
The 2.5 hr Gulla Heritage Trail tour was excellent - if you are interested in the history and culture of the island.
Suggest visiting both the Coastal museum on Hilton Head and the Penn Center museum on nearby St. Helena Island.

Old Town Bluffton is nice to visit to see the Church, walk to the pier, and play on the swings. It is also worth the walk down the main street to visit the shops, especially the bead shop. We ate at the Squat N' Gobble multiple times because it is so good and they offer gluten free options.
