Located in Isando, 13 miles from Johannesburg, City Lodge Hotel at OR Tambo International Airport features an outdoor pool and fitness center. The location is perfect since it is within walking distance to the airport terminals. When I checked in, the receptionist was very polite, cheerful and welcoming. I was pleased to be given a room with the most beautiful views of Johannesburg just as I had requested prior to my arrival. The room was excellent and had everything an international traveler would need (including different types of sockets to charge mobile phones or shaving machines). When I checked out, I was pleasantly surprised and grateful that one of the hotel staff (a young porter) carried my luggage and walked with me to Terminal B. A truly wonderful experience!

The staff was very friendly and professional. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel is very expensive and caters more for international tourists.

Dove’s Nest is located less than 1.2 mi from OR Tambo Airport and offers a free airport shuttle. It offers a breakfast room overlooking the garden and spacious guest rooms. Nice for overnight stay close to the airport. I arrived quite late and was picked up with no problems and was immediately taken to my room. I had forgotten to ask what time breakfast ends and came 10 minutes after the finish time, but the lady from the kitchen waas very kind to quickly make me some scrambled eggs and what's left of the breakfast items. Check in/check out was a breeze, payment at the property was very convenient, and the shuttle back to the airport runs every hour.
