Conveniently situated in the Yodogawa Ward district of Osaka, APA Hotel Shin Osaka Minamikata Ekimae is set 1 km from Water Service Memorial Museum, less than 1 km from Shin-Osaka Marunouchi Building... The staff was excellent. Decent location if you come off the Metro.

Located in Osaka, within 200 metres of Hinode Minami Park and 200 metres of Shin-Osaka Marunouchi Building Annex, APA Hotel Shin Osaka Ekimae provides accommodation with a spa and wellness centre. It’s really close to Shin Osaka station, which it’s really helpful if you are taking big luggage! The room was kinda small, but comfortable and the room was pretty clean. I also loved the TV contents; they let you know when you have 10 min to do checkout, which I personally loved. They also have Japan etiquette videos (which some foreign tourists should really watch 😓)

From the perspective of a female solo traveller, this was an excellent hotel. It felt very safe, I had absolutely no issues walking around, exploring the city and walking back at night. Some fancy hotels like St Regis are just around the corner, so it says a lot about the area. If you love walking, then the location is perfect, 3 km walking to the Osaka Castle, 2 km walking to Osaka station for those day trips to Kyoto and also 2 km to Dotonbori. If you want to use the metro, the hotel is right next to the station, in fact one of the lifts takes you down to the station. The hotel room was small, but comfortable. Perfect for a solo traveller. The breakfast was great, lots of western and local choices. And the best part is that it is open from 6 am to 1 pm, I love that flexibility. In the area there are a lot of food choices for lunch and dinner. If not the 7eleven around the corner is one of the best I have seen in Japan, big with lots of snacks/meals. But the best, absolutely the best part was the Spa, they have a women's only section and it was exactly what I needed after a day of exploring.

Good location for various Osaka Metro and the loop line. Check in is on a machine as usual. Staff was very friendly and they were happy to help us with luggage storage. The room was good size for Japan and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom was also nice, and the shower had great pressure. We had breakfast too and it was so many options and everything was tasty. Would be very happy to stay again!
