The place was lovely. It was like stepping back in time. The host, Maiyu, and her husband were super friendly. They own a cafe downstairs where she serves very delicious traditional dessert. The town itself was lovely as well. It's traditional bedding (so futon on the floor) and even though there was no AC at night, the cross breeze from some of the open windows, as well as the fans, made the room surprisingly cool. No mosquitos either!

The manager of the facility was exceptional. She offered to show me around Matsuyama with her car, but since I was exhausted by riding all day, I respectfully declined. She cooked me and the other guests a delicious meal that we couldn’t finish because we were too full!

Could not rate the property as we could not access due to door problem. However the exterior of the building is very shabby and uninviting with no signage that this is the Takahara Mansions as advertised. Its name was in actual fact Plateau Machison. In japanese. We were forced to hurriedly book alternate accommodation at 10 PM as there was no help available because this is remotely managed accommodation with no one to assist..
