And nearby hiking options, like Pania della Croce (thank you for this advice Alessandro!). Lucca is also a beautiful city and only 45 min drive away.

Host was first class. Apartment was immaculate, finished to a high standard with comfy beds, Tv with Netflix and all cooking/ laundry facilities at your fingertips. The place itself is a stone throw from restaurants, galleries, main piazza and the duomo. Perfecto!

The apartment is a peaceful little gem with a big terrace and a beautiful mountain view. The kitchen is well equipped and the bed is super comfortable. The location is very convenient, Barga city centre can be easily reached with a 5 minutes walk and it's a good base to reach many trails and attractions in Garfagnana. The hosts, Mairi and Fabio, are incredibly nice and gave us recommendations for restaurants and things to do. We'll definitely go back when visiting Garfagnana again!

Fab property in a great location - couldn’t believe we found a villa with a pool within an easy walk of Barga old town . Pool was lovely and plenty of space both indoors and out with lovely views of the mountains . We visited with my sister and family - 10 in total , adults, young adults and teenagers and everyone loved it . The villa was well equipped and hosts were excellent . Wouldn’t hesitate to return to Villa Sophia and would totally recommend .
