Beach Hotels in Ibaruma

Clean, comfortable simple room, with basic amenities. Friendly hosts, especially the wife. Setting is small, picturesque rural village in agricultural area beside the ocean, far from Ishigaki town. Peaceful and serene. Should be very quiet, except that frogs (I think they were frogs) were really loud at night in the creek nearby (I slept with the terrace door open). I think that would only be an issue certain times of the year 😊.

The hosts were very kind, thoughtful, and accommodating. We were able to rent snorkeling gear for 1500 yen for the entire stay, and ended up also renting their grill a few times so we could make dinner on the patio (highly recommend!). The property grounds are very well-kept and absolutely stunning. The yard is full of surprises - stay out past sunset to see flying foxes and listen to a variety of bird calls! Another big plus is that the beach is a 2 min walk away, which is really convenient if you don’t want to drive to one. The delicious breakfast is made fresh every day. It consisted of a type of bread (varied each day of our stay), scrambled egg, bacon/ham, local fruit, salad, miso soup, and yogurt/granola. Bonus points for being healthy and filling! We also expressed interest in having Japanese food, so Noriko-san was kind enough to make us a typical Okinawan breakfast one of the days. The highlight of our stay was the firefly tour. We got lucky and were there at the right time (mid May) and signed up for it on a whim. We were treated to quite the sight, and were absolutely awestruck, do not miss the opportunity if you have it. The hosts’ passion for conservation on Ishigaki was evident and I’m glad we were exposed to a sliver of their vast knowledge. Looking forward to our next stay for sure

We had a wonderful family stay here! Seaside Village 13 is a lovely small hotel with individual houses, spotlessly clean in true Japanese style, and run by incredibly friendly and welcoming people. Everyone was extremely helpful and always there whenever we needed anything. We felt very comfortable from the first moment and had a fantastic family time.

The host was beyond kind and attentive to our needs. She communicated with us thoroughly and made sure that we had information ahead of time. Her English was amazing and it was extremely easy to communicate with her. The house itself was spacious and had SO many great amenities for our family. They had extra water toys, water shoes, plenty of towels, etc. Out of all our accommodations during our stay in Japan I think this house was our favorite.

We had a wonderful 1 week stay! The location was just what we were looking for. Silence and the ocean nearby. The house is very spacious, clean and has everything. They come in the change the towels everyday and fully cleaned once a week. The owners were super kind and available whenever we needed. We rented a car from them at a super friendly price and they picked us and left us at the airport. You can also rent snorkeling gear at a very low price for the whole stay. I totally recommend staying here if you want an experience close to nature. It was a beautiful experience fully immersed in Ishigaki’s nature and beauty.

The property has a nice pool, beachfront location and kayaks to rent free of charge. The hotel is ideally located in the middle of Ishigaki so if you rent one of Joshes little vans (a must for the price) you can explore both the north and south sides of the island easily.

We had an amazing stay here!!! - Great staff, helpful recommendations and language support with booking a taxi one evening - You will probably want a rental car to explore the island - they have a secure car park nearby - Rooms were spacious, clean and well decorated - So close to the beach, and options to rent / borrow gear from the hotel (e.g. sun loungers, snorkelling, kayaks etc) - Homely feel, with a games room and complimentary laundry - They think of everything; even down to providing organic mosquito spray at the front desk

You get what you pay for and this place is exceptional. The snorkeling right off the property is fantastic and they rent out the necessary gear. The private pool is fantastic relief in the heat of the summer. The staff is great and personable and the chef is remarkably talented.
