Beach Hotels in La Réunion

I don’t give out many 10s, but this was fabulous! Picked up at the jetty so I didn’t have to schlep my luggage. Staff was welcoming and showed everything in the apartment. Apartment was a great size and would be perfect for a couple. Kitchen was well equipped and there was coffee and tea provided. 2 bottles of water also given and some welcome juice. Bathroom was large and plenty of space to store things. Shower was good pressure and there was hot water but it was hotter when I took second shower earlier in the morning. Body wash and shampoo provided. Also provide beach towels. Bed was comfortable and AC is strong, but it only in bedroom. Plug next to bed. The wifi was great and I could FaceTime and stream. Location is perfect right next to two restaurants and the market is maybe 10 minute walk. They have bicycles to rent for 100 per day. TV has English channels. You can see the ocean just through some trees :)

Le Repaire is in a beautiful location on its own little beach, with beautiful simple rooms and centrally located. Wonderful staff, breakfast and Italian restaurant. This will be my go-to place to stay next time on La Digue.

Clarissa and her team will try to read your wishes, so you just have to think about something and it will happen ;) Clarissa’s very knowledgable about La Digue and she will organize bikes, excursions, transportation etc. She gave us a full overview of the island with all restaurants, take aways, beaches etc and that kept us pretty busy for our stay. We had a drinking-water refill station in our room, so we could safe a tan of single-use-plastic bottles, which was a very nice addition to the room. On our last day, we were allowed to keep our towels, stored our luggage, and took a shower near the pool, after a day at the beach, before heading back to the ferry, which was super comfortable. We had an amazing stay at the Hyde-Tide Guesthouse and we would return anytime. Thanks for having us and keep up the good work!

Location

We were in one of the Lodge’s special buildings, in the house located within the L'Union Estate National Park. It is completely separate from the main building and the double bungalows, and you have to cycle about 1 km to reach the main building. In return, you can enter the national park for free, and several times a day you pass the Grand Monolith and the giant tortoises living beneath it. I recommend this for families, as there are two separate rooms with two bathrooms and a central area with a well-equipped kitchen (microwave, oven, kettle), and we also had a washing machine. There was also a large TV with many channels available. There is plenty of space, the building is airy, not a tiny hotel room. The terrace is wonderful because from there you can see the ocean – the water is about 10 metres from the house – and you can walk down between fig trees and palms to the white sand. Since this area is part of the otherwise closed national park, there is nobody on the beach, even though in theory they could be, because in Seychelles all beaches are accessible, so anyone can go there. It is astonishing how undisturbed the beach is – in the evening the crabs had dug themselves into the sand, knowing that between 7 p.m. and 9 a.m. nobody would be around. I congratulate the people of La Digue and Seychelles for their nature-friendly way of life; we also tried not to disturb the wildlife. At night there is perfect silence, only the roar of the ocean can be heard. We booked the house with breakfast, and it was very good – varied and tasty. It was great that breakfast was available until 10 a.m., so late enough that there was no stress. The house is a 15-minute bike ride from one of the world’s most beautiful beaches (Grand Anse) and within walking distance of another (Anse Source d’Argent). Every single person we came into contact with was very kind, helpful, and polite.

The staff were very hospitable, had great service and they made sure to meet every need. It was very convenient as any queries we had we spoke to the receptionists and they sorted it, stuff like renting bikes, transfers etc.. Also a very good location and an amazing beach outside the hotel.
