The guesthouse was beautifully constructed and looked like recently renovated. The original house is over 200 years old but interior looks new. Owners were very helpful and the room a wooden paradise. Breakfast extensive and hot food included. Centrally located for Appenzell day trips.

The hosts of the hotel were very friendly and helpful despite the fact that I did not speak Swiss-German. I would recommend it as it is quiet and well run. There is also a nice cafe down the road where you can buy a quick and affordable meal. Next time, I hope to be there when the highly rated restaurant next door is open.

The place is very well located, right by the lake and the bike path around lake Constance. Easy to access and with restaurants, supermarkets and multiple facilities nearby. The host keeps the house super clean and is very friendly. She let us put our bicycles in a closed garage so they would also be safe from the weather.
