What stands out most of all is the friendly, helpful, smiling attitude of ALL STAFF that we came into contact with. Nothing, I mean NOTHING was a problem or hassle, everything we asked for was delivered with a smile. The hotel is to undergo a £2m upgrade next year. This should make the place even better (but please keep all the same staff).

The room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful mountain view! We ate dinner and breakfast there and the food was delicious! The staff was gracious and helpful. Will definitely stay here when we're back in the area!

Just off the A591, around 10 minutes from Keswick, Barn-Gill House dates back to the 1800s and enjoys a peaceful location in the Lake District.

The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and well located for the Swirls access to Helvellyn. Breakfast was very tasty and complete.
