It’s beautiful! The Japanese architectural details are so lovely. I learned a lot about the hotel and the design. The history of furniture in their family. The husband and wife who run Shioriya are so kind and welcoming. They went above and beyond. It was truly a great place to stay. I started my day smiling with them every day.

Nice hosts and a cute dog! We had vegetarian diet wishes which were no issue at all. We had a delicious lunch and dinner and a good night sleep in a big room in a quiet area.

So much more than B&B. Get invited to a Japanese home with amenities amongst lush surroundings. Host was waiting for us at door when we arrived at 8pm! Most welcoming, simply generous and thoughtful makes our stay a warming one. Well conversant in English, deer hunter in winter cum owner in summer. Property nestled amongst countryside neighborhood with lush apple orchards and grape fields. Kids most welcomed with BBQ available, his Tokyo cat also most adorable. All amenities provided including english labeling, laundrymat, stocked fridge, kitchen pots/sink(!)

The proprietor was very polite and welcoming. Despite an intermediate grasp of the English language, he had prepared a script to facilitate all necessary instructions and pertinent details. The room is adorned with a plethora of travel guides making sure you know where to travel during the day, the rooms have essential amenities such as strong wifi, plush towels, shampoo & body soap, a well-equipped mini kitchen complete with a refrigerator, induction stove, and microwave, and secure lockers for personal belongings. The weighted blankets and inviting beds ensured a restful and comfortable stay.

That guesthouse is just fantastic. Great city, great bar but especially great staff and people coming there. Food was delicious, I still have craving for it haha. I havent tried the sauna, but I heard it’s the best ;)

Simple, down to earth minshuku in an amazing area, super convenient to walk around the 5 Togakushi Shrines. Rooms are very clean and spacious. Food was simple yet delicious.

Breakfast was good, owners were kind and accommodating and even let us know about an extra coupon we could use as in-prefecture residents! Offered us a corkscrew and wine glasses when we said we'd forgotten ours.
