The staff is friendly beyond expectations, sweet and caring. They prepare on request delicious bento boxes on a bamboo leaf, they’re flexible, supportive and go out of their way to make sure you’re enjoying. The room is comfortable with a very nice bed and private toilet. The place is located near Ambo, really close to a bus stop. I’d come back any time and recommend it fully!

The lady that greeted us was very kind and help us understand everything we need for our stay. It was walking distance from the port, which helped us to save some time and money arriving there. the room was spacious and cozy.

The wonderful people whom in our unforgettable trip are the owner and all the stuffs of Minshuku Yakushima. We are very thankful to them. The property is on a hill from ocean and very clean and thoughtfully organized, and the meals are deliciously cooked local food. We even could ask the advice of hiking schedule and recommendations of local places by buses, means they know the activities very well and reliable. The location is wonderful; wonderful Izakaya, local markets, even the town center is walking distance, also we can go major hiking places by bus from front of the Minshuku. (In addition, we can ask for packing lunch for hiking.) Lastly, there’s some stuffs fluent in English. You shouldn’t have problems.

A home away from home that was comfortable and comforting. The hostess Barbara is very warm and hospitable and gave the best recommendations to suit the traveller's needs. The place is as described and we loved the Japanese style room we slept in on the 2nd floor. We stayed 7 nights and cooked in the kitchen, hung out with the other guests and Babara and had a jolly good time! Loved the place and want to come back!
