Beautiful home decorated for Christmas. Adorable little bar tucked in the corner. The breakfasts were fabulous. Probably the best I’ve had at any B&B so far.

Peaceful atmosphere. Very comfortable place. A lot of room. Nature all around, very quiet. Easy to bring your belongings in. Short walk from the parking. Easy check in. Nice neighborhood. Lived walking my dog. Short walking distance to the beach. My dog was super calm and happy. Me as well. I loved it:)

This mansion and the service provided are awesome. It is first class. The landlady has been successful in restoring this property back to how it must have been when new. She also can tell you the complete history of this place and its seroundings. The furniture reminds you of bygone times when this beautiful mansion was build exept for the mattresses, which is a blessing. In the evenings the stylish living room is very inviting and the lady of the house places bottles of wine for your enjoyment and soft background music in style is piped into the sitting room all night, so that you really feel like you have traveled back in time. The breakfast is phenomenal, it’s being served by the landlady herself. She uses produce from the vegetable and herb garden plus other ingredients combined into a lovely starter and even more delightful main brackfast course prepared for you taking your taste and or dietary needs into account. You can also enjoy her extensive knowledge of the island and its history. And for me, coming from the Netherlands, “THE COFFEE WAS GREAT” which is exceptional in the US. We were expected to book in the Ritz Carlton for a wedding and could not get a room. So happy we found this place instead. My wife and I enjoyed our stay beyond our expectations. We were in no way compensated for this review other than how we experienced our stay. You will not regret booking this place. Sincerely, Kim

This is a true jem of Georgia hospitality which you will not find very often. When entering the little town of St Marys with its Spanish moss loaded trees not far from the little harbor, on the the right hand side you will reach the old villa with its porches on two levels. What a warm appearance! The owner Mardja welcomed us so friendly in this house which with all its overwhelming interior decor brings you back a hundred years in time. Rooms with all modern amenities are all following a bit some movie themes - ours was Gone with the Wind. But it all still remains authentic keeping the time travel character. In the afternoon, Mardja will serve you some homemade cake and coffee on the porch, dinner can be taken in one of the little restaurants at the harbor (literally 2 minutes walking distance). And finally there is some complimentary red or white wine which you can have on the porch in the quite and peaceful evening atmosphere. The next morning the breakfast is served fully styled on porcelain (we had fruits, homemade cake, freshly pressed orange juice and brewed coffee not to forget the tasty omelette soufflé). If you are to make a trip to Cumberland Island or just for a few days to ‚switch off‘ from a busy town life, do not hesitate to go here.
