Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya is a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse located on Miyajima (Itsukushima). Super friendly and helpful. Wonderful place. Great vibe. Guitars and Piano available. Two onsen. Breakfast and vegan dinner was included. I fully recommend staying here for at least one night l. Go for a hike and enjoy the quiet island in the early morning and evening.

We also arrived back to our room one particularly cold afternoon to find that the host had switched the heater on for us which was incredibly welcome on our cold bones.

Staying in a 100+ year old traditional Japanese home was an amazing experience, and the fact that we had the whole house to yourself made it even better. In addition, the host was so kind and helpful and really went out of his way to make our stay memorable. He gave us great recommendations for dinner and helped us make reservations. The room was very spacious, the beds were very comfortable, and every amenity you could possible need was provided.

Set just 1.2 km from Remains of Ochaya - Honzin, 西条ゲストハウス八反 offers accommodation in Higashihiroshima with access to a bar, a shared lounge, as well as a shared kitchen. Overall this was better than some private accommodations I have stayed in the past. The hostel room only has 6 beds. The bathrooms were clean and specious. Really enjoyed. Bed was nice after sleeping on wood tile for 3 days.

1 km from Oogamiyama Omoto Shrine, ゲストハウス尾道ポポー Guesthouse Onomichi Pawpaw is located in Onomichi and provides air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. Everything was absolutely amazing, and especially the service. The owner is so kind and helpful. He helped us out so much and even drove us to the ferry. If you are ever in Onomichi don’t hesitate to book this place, the kindness and hospitality of the owner alone is enough to make the stay worthwhile.

Kunoki( konur) -gistihús Only) er staðsett í Fukuyama, 8,9 km frá Miroku no Sato, 9 km frá Jodoji-hofinu og 10 km frá Oogamiyama Omoto-helgiskríninu. Guesthouse Kusunoki was wonderful. The guesthouse was quaint, artistic, and impeccably clean. The owner, Katsumori san, is kind and very detail-oriented, and you can tell that he puts his heart and soul into running this guesthouse. I loved my stay here, it was the highlight of my trip.

Guest House Gamigami státar af sjávarútsýni og býður upp á gistingu með garði, verönd og sameiginlegri setustofu, í um 3,1 km fjarlægð frá Saikon-ji-hofinu. The beauty and the quiet of the area was wonderful after hectic times in Kyōto and Tōkyō. The host was very lively, friendly, and helpful. The tatami room was a nice size and the futons were comfortable. There was air conditioning. Also, we had access to cooking equipment, but only made mocha and microwaved a little food.

The property was authentic and they communicated this when we booked. There are stairs to get there and we were prepared. Great view.

From the moment you open the front door you are greeted with a beautiful garden and open green spaces to explore within the grounds. We were very late to check in (about 11pm), and the owner Kengo-san waited up for us in order to show us to our room and give us a clear explanation about how to use the facilities. We sincerely appreciated that. Our room was spacious, clean, and very calming to rest in. Heating AC in the room was a godsend for the cold nights, and the showers had hot water and a modern WC with bidet. There is also a shared kitchen to prepare your food and throw trash. There’s a lot to appreciate and admire in 88House Hiroshima. From the beautiful Yukimi shoji doors in the rooms that lets in the natural daylight whilst still retaining privacy, to the beautiful wooden beams and rafters and wooden light fixtures. A lot of interesting books and ornaments adorn the walkway, and there’s even a small section of kids toys to entertain the little ones. Kengo-san has made sure to leave lots of flyers and pamphlets of events/exhibtions, and a variety of things to do and explore in the area, so check the table near the entrance genkan. There is a lot of greenery around you and a small stream outside the property, as well as Kengo-san’s sweet potato fields. Kengo-san is very friendly and my partner and I are very thankful to have had a chance to stay in his home. We highly highly recommend staying here if you are in Hiroshima and want a slice of Japanese home living away from the city. We hope to come back and stay again, and I hope Kengo-san can bring us for that hike up the mountain behind his house to see the Kannon statue!
