First time I stay at a place that is actually better than the photos! Absolutely incredible place, our best in Zanzibar by far. The villa in perfectly maintained, the chef’s food is best we had so far. Ralu and Lee and very welcoming. Really really recommend.

Staff always bent backward to please and accomodate. There were a number of problems, but they were quickly and efficiently corrected. Property kept in immaculate condition!

Set in Jambiani, in the middle of a local village , Zanzistar Lodge features a sun terrace with outdoor pool and is located just a short stroll away from the beach.

I had a wonderful stay at Kobe House. The accommodation is lovely — the building is new, and the rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The garden and pools are also kept in excellent condition, making the whole place feel peaceful and inviting. The staff deserves a special mention: they are extremely nice, attentive, and genuinely caring. They constantly check on your wellbeing and make sure you have everything you need. The airport transfer was perfectly organized, and whenever I asked for anything, they were quick to help. Check-in was smooth, with a refreshing welcome drink of fresh juice. The food is good and always enough. The breakfast could be a bit more varied, but it’s important to keep in mind that this isn’t a 5-star resort — it’s a cozy, well-run guesthouse with great service. The location is between Paje and Jambiani, just a 3-minute walk to the main street, where you can easily catch a tuktuk to reach either village. Kobe House is away from the busy beach bars, making it a quiet and relaxing place to stay. Personally, I preferred the beaches in those areas, especially Paje Kite Beach, which is about a 30-minute walk away along the beach. If you’re visiting Zanzibar for the first time or traveling solo, this is a perfect place to stay. It feels safe, friendly, and well-organized. Kevin is especially helpful and full of useful information. Overall, a very positive experience — highly recommended for a relaxed and welcoming stay in Zanzibar.

The breakfast was delicious with a local twist. It was served in the open dining area with beautiful decor and views of the sea. The staff were absolutely delightful. The location of the hotel is exceptional - right on Bwejuu beach which is quieter than neighbouring Paje. Paje is within easy reach along the beach or by taxi or tuktuk if you need to shop or us and ATM.

Bahari Beach Bungalows is a recently renovated bed and breakfast in Jambiani where guests can make the most of its private beach area and garden.

The staff were super friendly and welcoming. We were able to fully relax and felt like we were right at home. We watched the sunrise, swam on the beach, lounged under the umbrellas, played cards, read books, searched for shells and enjoyed the pole pole vibe. We quickly abandoned our ideas of exploring the island because we were enjoying hanging out at Bahari so much. The food is also delicious. The included breakfast was generous and we were big fans of the pizza and smoothies later in the day. We took advantage of the massage service which was very nice. Prices were fair. We would definitely visit again.

Rafiki Zanzibar Residence is a recently renovated guest house in Paje where guests can make the most of its garden and barbecue facilities.

Beautiful place, it’s like a little oasis away from any sounds of cars or scooters and all you hear is the sounds of nature. We booked one night, but ended up staying 4 nights and was a wonderful peaceful and tranquil place to be. Was also fun to hear and see the monkeys nearby jumping in the trees wild and free as they should be. Also Susy is a very sweet, kind and friendly host!
