Sincerily, my experience on Casa do Vale da Mula was top notch! I was already with great expectations based on the house's presentation in Booking, but upon arrival, the expectations were easily exceeded. The house is fantastic, has a great decoration, and it makes one feel integrated in the little village of Vale da Mula. A buch of interesting locations around the house are also very easy to reach. And the silence... this is a house that you should consider if you really need a serious rest and to calm down from the hectic daily live in the city. For sure I will be back!

Location: Close to the A25 (PT) / A62 (ES) motorways joining Portugal and Spain. Worth to divert for an overnight stay. Could be also a base to explore Historical Villages (Aldeias Historicas) or Coa valley / Siega Verde prehistoric rock art (UNESCO heritage site). Hotel: in fact the hotel is an addition to the restaurant. We recommend a dinner here, our was very tasty. The hotel has original décor and nice finishing. Room: large and comfortable, bag rack electric sockets: easily accessible, however these near the bed are occupied by lamps. lighting: good Stairs/elevator: Our room was located on the ground floor. Bed: large and comfortable. Bathroom: average in size but functional, heated, large and comfortable shower cabin. Breakfast: good, but we expected more after an excellent dinner. If you prefer French or Portuguese style the breakfast is very good – different sweets, cakes an jams, if you prefer German style the breakfast is weak – no vegetables, only one kind of ham and cheese. WiFi: good signal, fast connection (important as the mobile network is weak). Parking: free private parking, many places.

We very much enjoyed our (too-short) stay in Casa do Ti Massias. It was comfortable and very clean, and the welcome we received was lovely. It's located inside the fortress walls of a town (and region) with an interesting history, with walking paths and Vilar Formoso's amazing Frontier of Peace (Aristides de Sousa Mendes) Museum not far away. We highly recommend it.

awesome location inside the fortress…the feel inside the house was very authentic….with rock walls …..it was just soooo cute. The owners came and brought the keys and gave us an introduction of the house. Don‘t miss the museum..they did a nice job.
