The house is located in a mountainous area close to Girona. Very green and enjoyable area for holidays. The house has a good size swimming pool and relatively easy to get to by car. Since the house is located in the mountains, you get evening breeze in the evening and night, making it easy to sleep after a warm summer day. Even though the owners live in an adjacent house, they respected our privacy and we havent seen them thoughout our stay.

This is a perfect country escape to experience rural Spain. I loved the 14th century building, tiny chapel, lovely grounds, towers with ramparts, friendly hosts and the chickens. We took a room in the main building (there are also separate building accommodation). We had a separate bathroom which may be shared if there are other guests. We felt like we had the whole floor to ourselves - cooked in the full kitchen, dined with 180 degree views. close access to great towns and sites. thanks Alfonso and Ellie!

My wife, daughter and son in law stayed at this property for three nights. The ambience, peacefulness, accommodations and views were all outstanding. The enthusiasm and joy that Rosa brought to our stay was magnetic. She is so engaged and possesses a charming personality. Her breakfasts were absolutely delicious. We enjoyed the fact that she adapted her offerings to our taste preferences (less meats and more fresh fruits and preserves). Lluisa was easy to communicate with prior to and after our stay. Her information about directions and other particulars was spot on. Els Masos de Caula is off the beaten track and unique in its offering. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone who would like to have a magical escape.
