The Au Cheval Noir was a lovely, secluded place in the country. Lovely views, lovely old house. Comfortable beds, cosy atmosphere. Thoughtful tea, coffee and cakes waiting for us. Wonderful French breakfast for us in the morning. Our host was lovely, kind and thoughtful. Lovely to be near enough to Bergues, which was a gem of a place I had never come across before. We were only passing through for the night, but a place we'd love to come back to.

have not many times seen so much attention to details in a hotel, be it in public areas or the room. Very welcoming host, super friendly. We even could choose from two different rooms. The room was very large and comfy, and beautiful decorated, far bettter than we expected. Bathroom was very functional and stylish as well. Street parking was ok, as Bergues is not really a crowded hotspot. We found a parking just in front of the hotel to park our classic car, which was a plus ;-)
