Spotlessly clean, bright and airy. Our stay was for four nights. After a long day travelling we arrived early evening. The cottage is part of a larger estate and the grounds are beautiful, we enjoyed an evening walk exploring. West Calder is just a 25-30 minute drive to Edinburgh. The rooms were lovely and clean, beds very comfy, plenty of extra towels etc. The welcome package of breakfast items and milk and juice was so thoughtful and very gratefully received! The three bathrooms were a bonus and worked well for our party. Cannot fault our stay and would definitely consider booking again only next time for longer!

Linda is the most gracious host EVER!!! She made us strawberry tarts for our first breakfast, she also provided her own chickens fresh eggs along with milk, butter, bread and she got me ice because I use it in my water bottle every day, all day!!! The cottage is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL and has EVERYTHING you would possibly need for a stay! Linda has thought of everything for her guests!!! I felt as if I were at home in their beautiful cottage and property! They have chickens and sheep which makes it so special!!! I fell in love with the place and Linda and hope to keep in touch with her. Her husband Dave is just as kind as she is! Truly beautiful people! If I ever have the opportunity to visit beautiful Scotland again, I will definitely stay at Ploughman's Poet!!! A++++++++ Rating!!❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Love and a big THANK YOU to Linda and Dave!!!😍

Compact and comfortable. Everything was there for a pleasant break.Situated in a quiet area. Took time out on Sunday to go to Edinboriugh zoo. It only took about half an hour and was well worth the trip. If visiting the city itself you can even go by train. An easy place to recommend. From Roger in Cumbria.
