This apartment has so much potential but we can only give it a 7 rating due to the 3 major problems detailed below. Apart from them, the location was convenient to Lucca and Pisa. The ground floor is huge but most of the space is underutilized or wasted when the bathroom and laundry could have been made so much larger instead. The double bed upstairs was comfortable but the low sloping roof meant head-bangs were a regular feature. The dining table was large and useful and the couch was comfortable.

The overall impression of Villa Sissi is that it’s better than in photos. Swimming pool renovated, garden, the nature around, nice attitude of owners, the size of a villa and serenity is definitely amazing. We loved the rooms as well, spacious and special. One could feel a touch of care and love.

The unit is an updated designer decorated apartment above the hosts Tuscan old house. It has a separate stair entrance. The setting and the garden, the glass house in it are beautiful, impecable and with good taste. Giulio and Massimo were very accommodating and helpful. We asked if they could help us find a truffle hunting and they were able to arrange one that was fantastic. We left with lots of large black truffles and a few small whites. Giulio drove all the way to another city to the meeting place to make sure we found our guide, and Bella the dog. Gave us lots of local suggestions. We had everything we needed in the apartment, lots of Nespresso pods, teas, there was even some pasta but we did not cook. The heat was great as well. I left some medicines and Giulio offered to mail them when he found them but I did not need them. We hope to return, even fantasizing with spending a month there and becoming more “Tuscan”. Great location, few minutes away from Lucca, also close to Pisa, central location.
