Our stay at Baglio Calia was a real pleasure. It really is a little oasis on the outskirts of mazara. You woudln't know it was there before you get on to the flower covered drive. Vito was a lovely, kind host, who was very interesting. Our room was large and had a mini fridge which was great during the heatwave for storing water and the air conditioning was very welcome! The bathroom was modern and very clean and they kept the room very clean during our stay. The breakfast was good, and the lady who served it was very kind. You definitely need a car to be able to stay here as its not that close to restaurants or the main town, but the parking is secure and really to get around sicily you need a car anyway. The pool was really a highlight of our stay and made the very warm days bearable - it was large, with good shaded areas and was great to be able to come back to after exploring other local sights.
