Wonderful, friendly little homestay in easy walking distance to the National Park

Mooncak Taivāna

The hostress of the homestay was extremely friendly and hospitable. We stayed for three nights in a row and booked dinner for three days. The dinners were delicious; Dina is a great chef. She is also very talented in singing and dancing, and she is happy to share her life with us, making our stay in Mulu a very wonderful and memorable experience.

This was a big surprise. Brenda and James are awesome. There’s so much to see, do and learn about nature and the tribes there. We did some tours to caves with Brenda and we did a tour to Long Iman which was amazing, went to a long house and then walked to a waterfall. More remote than the tours within the park and maybe even cooler. We loved it! Price wise this is also a no brainer. Accommodation is basic but well kept. I was a bit nervous about not having an AC but it does cool off a bit at night.

It’s an amazing experience to step out of your comfort zone and stay here. Diana and her family are so friendly and helpful. It was a relaxing stay and refreshing break from “normal”.

The location of this homestay is the best part about it. It's a 2 minute walk from the park entrance while still giving you the feel of being outside of the park. They kept power on the whole time so we could still charge things throughout the day and keep the fans on all night. At nights the rooms cooled down and were comfortable. The bathrooms were shared but we were the only people here so it felt private.
