We really appreciated the warm welcome, the hospitality and great availability of the hosts. We loved to see the cows and calves and enjoyed the quiet of the country side. The house is very spacious and tastefully decorated, clean and with all the comforts you need, and thanks to the covered terrace you can stay outside even when it rains. Really reccomandable for a full immersion in Dutch country side, and yet not far away from the city.

The apartment that I had reserved was listed for 4 adults. However, at check in the receptionist explained that it would have been too small for us. This might have been a problem with the Booking.com platform? However, we were pleased as the receptionist upgraded us to a larger apartment. That was very kind!

Everything was perfect. Highlight of oud stay at the end of October was watching the Sun come up over the pastures in front of the farmhouse. Magical.

The chalet is on a farm, the views all around are amazing - there is unobstructed view towards the fields on one side and the beautiful horses on the other. There is a fireplace in, which warms it up super quickly and adds an unbeatable cozy feel. The chalet is small but you have everything you can possibly need for a few days stay. And the hosts are lovely so I am sure they would accommodate any other reasonable requests. What I loved the most was the company of animals: the horses, the dog, chicks, sheep. There were also a couple of cats who, alas, never came close to me as they were way too busy having fun in the fields, so I just enjoyed watching them from afar. Winsum is beautiful too: the canals, the churches, the houses. No wonder it is rated the most beautiful village in the country. The location is great for a starting point to explore the area: Pieterburen, Groningen, Lauwersoog, the Wadden Islands are very close and so worth visiting.

What a great place to stay, host were friendly, great location, no noisy traffic, weather was windy and raining but cabin inside warm, cosy and quiet, comfortable beds, breakfast was excellent.
