Beautiful property, very well run by Hannelore and her friendly professional staff Superb views from the roof terrace, beautiful room, enjoyable breakfast (particularly the lentil pancakes), good WiFi, laid back vibe and we also enjoyed the dinner very much. The property specialises in vegan food. As a vegetarian I enjoyed it. My only criticism overall would be the room and dinner are a bit overpriced (for backpacking not short holidays) although with only a handful of rooms I understand this. If you don't want to dine on the roof terrace, which is very enjoyable, you can always go elsewhere. Overall, a lovely place to stay which perfectly compliments the absolutely outstanding Paul Valley.

Situated in Pombas in the Santo Antao region, Luz d'Sol - Residencial Familiar has a balcony. With sea views, this accommodation features a terrace. The accommodation provides airport transfers, while a car rental service is also available. It is a 3-storey building run by a very welcoming family. The breakfast is the best we have tasted in the whole island, with a lot of quantity and the quality was excellent (they made homemade sponge cake!!). The host family are very nice, friendly and welcoming. They are learning many languages, and try to speak to you in your own language. The room was clean, air-conditioned, and brand new (in fact, they are working on the upper floor to make more rooms). It is without a doubt, our most recommended stay in Cape Verde!!!

The owner Ivandro is very friendly and helpful - he booked restaurants for us and we felt very quickly like we were at a friend's house. View from the terrace is amazing. And the house is an historic house. We could leave our food in the communal fridge and use kitchen as we please.

Guests can make use of the sun terrace or the picnic area, or enjoy views of the mountain and garden. Very good location, nice spacious room and terrace. Guillaume arranged our transfers from/to ferry, early breakfast before our departure and had recommendations ready for restaurants, tours and activities, maps and books on the area and Cape Verde were available. We appreciated the care taken to conserve water and energy, reduce waste. Bonus: the best restaurant in town, Caleta is couple of minutes away.

Amazing place to stay - beautiful views in every direction. Rooms are simple, but comfortable and great value for the price. The included breakfast was a good start to the day and the dinners served communally for a reasonable charge were very filling and locally sourced. It was nice to meet other travelers - not as easy to do these days. The owner is a dynamo who can take care of everything while switching between French, English, German and Portuguese.

Everything was absolutely perfect. It was by far the best place we stayed in Cabo Verde. The view is breathtaking and the food is amazing. We would stay only here again.

The villa consists of 3 bedrooms, a living room, a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave and a coffee machine, and 3 bathrooms with a walk-in shower and a hair dryer. Towels and bed linen are offered in the villa. The property has an outdoor dining area. We were met by Lieve at the Ferry Terminal, she arranged a rental car and guided us to the villa (10 minutes from the Ferry Terminal). Lieve and Geert went out of there way to make our stay as comfortable as possibe. The Villa has been built by them with an eye for detail. The villa is very spacious, 3 spacious bedrooms, each with a toilet/bath room, in two of these rooms next to the double beds bunkbeds for two kids. In living room an additional seperate toilet on top. Also a spacious kitchen with everything you need. The swimming pool is covered every evening so it stays warm (28 Celsius). Very important in winter months, we were at some other places where swimming was only for the brave (24 C) or even unbarable (20 C).

The bed and breakfast provides a restaurant serving Cajun Creole cuisine, as well as free WiFi throughout the property. Where do I start? This place is fabulous, but even more fabulous are the hosts! Margaret and her lovely family make you feel at home as soon as you arrive. She's super attentive, cares about her guests and treated us like royalty. She prepares a magnificent breakfast every day, all home made and with local products, most from her own garden. She gave us very good advice on what to visit, which hikes to do and the best logistics to enjoy our time on the island. She pointed us to a festivity in the village nearby and recommended nice places to enjoy local food and drinks. And she cooked dinner for us every evening, every time a different dish, including a typical local stew and the famous cachupa. Everything was DELICIOUS! The house has a glorious view of the valley and the mountains in the background are just unbelievable, they seem to be taken straight out of a fantasy book! The dining area has a massive open window to the scenery and the room we had also had a big window with the same view. The location is perfect: quiet and conveniently close to Ribeira Grande, Paúl and Ponta su Sol. It was very easy to reach by car and we do recommend anyone who can afford the rental price to drive up to Margaret's house and park right in front. The roads are safe and driving is easy. There's practically no traffic and it's simple to move around. If you cannot afford a car, Margaret is also happy to give you information on how to reach her place with private transport or public, collective transport. She's just wonderful and she'll make you feel at home! Finally, the room was comfortable, clean and we had a very good sleep every night! I hope to come back soon, I left a piece of my heart here!
