Everything was perfect - the hosts, the service, the food. Beautiful houses, very authentic, with great attention to small details. One of the house was actually dated from 1881. Very charming mixture of the traditional with the comfort of the modern world. There is a lavender touch everywhere - starting with the toiletry to the lavender jus. Can pay on-site with credit/debit card. The yard is very big, there are hammacks for the kids, a dog and some baby cats. There is a small shop, where you can buy art of a local artist (the sister of the host). Really memorable experience.

This is an amazing guesthouse. The room is large and impeccably clean. Bed was comfortable with warm duvet covers. Wifi is very strong. The surrounding gardens are lovely.. Shower is great with hot water and good pressure. We expected a kettle and fridge but it is also well equipped with plates, cutlery, and even wine glasses. The lady who runs it is incredibly friendly and thinks of everything that her guests will need. It's a quiet location but easily accessible and a great option to visit the area. It's street parking but there is a lot available. She recommended a great place for dinner.

The place was incredibly clean and the check-in and check-out procedure were very well arranged. The owners were very responsive and send us clear instructions on how to unlock rooms. There were dishes and utensils as well which proved very useful.

Across the street from the hotel is a small leafy park with water fountains and a very pleasant café for an affordable lunch, a snack, or liquid refreshment. About 80 m from the hotel gate there is a small grocery store which is well stocked and can provide one with the basics for self-catering. The hotel has a looking. nice pool. The patio near the pool makes a pleasant shady spot in the late afternoon (in summer.) The room AC is "glacial" when returning after a hot summer day of exploration, The hostess is cheerful, and friendly and speaks serviceable English.

The "Grand Hotel Shumen" the main Hotel in town, an ex-communist built edifice (every town and city has one), built during the 70's. the architecture is unmistakeable. This was a last minute booking and offered at a very attractive/good value price so why not try. My first impression of the reception area is of Grandeur and a statement that you have arrived in Shumen, very large open space and functional, the receptionist was extremely polite and very helpful and gave me a room with a fantastic view of the City. The room itself seems to have been recently refurbished and has good quality furniture and a comfortable bed, a TV and hot drink facilities complete the offerings. Everything was to my satisfaction. I didn't visit the Mexhana/dining room so can't comment on the quality of the food or service.

The accomodation is very central, yet quiet and close to some nice restaurants. Room was clean and spacious (we were 2 people). Internet was fast. Excellent value for money.
