I came as a guest and decided to stay as a volunteer. I sincerely enjoyed my time soaking in the nature and wildlife. There is so much hiking you can do, I recommend staying at least a few nights to enjoy it thoroughly. A special thanks to Ron the owner for his kindness and the other volunteers and guests for a beautiful experience. I look forward to coming again!

Owners were lovely. Knowledgeable, kind, welcoming. Volunteers as well. Wonderful people, gorgeous views, good location. You wake up to the sounds of the monkeys in the jungle, wildlife everywhere.

The location is amazing with comfortable rooms (AC), a salt water pool and a protected beach steps away. We loved getting to know our fellow travelers while relaxing at the pool or beach. Additionally Nereus' friendly staff were able to provide local trips in the area, we went on a tour of the Corcovado National Park on a standard tour. The staff was able to customize days fishing and paddle boarding with the Captain Tom, who was able to tell us about everything around us. Their onside Massage Therapist/Yoga instructor, was there when we returned to help provide additional relaxation and services after our days of adventure. The food is excellent, they provide a large quantity of locally sourced food for delicious family style meals. We had a wonderful poke bowl / sashimi from that day's catch that would rival any sushi restaurant. The meals are served so you can pick your favorites and easily accommodate those with diet restrictions. Their staff is amazing and we can't wait to return.

You are located right in the jungle! You are on the monkey highway’! So many animals to see right from your deck, three kinks of monkeys, scarlet macaws, toucans, trogons, hummingbirds and more. Great beds; screens on the windows as well as fans and good AC. This allows you to have the room open to a nice breeze or the comfort of the AC. Wonderful big shower with plenty of hot water. Large refrigerator with room for ice. Bird tour with Louise was wonderful, they have lots of other tours available and they will pick you up right at Maze Lodge. The lodge is right next to a Zip Line tour, we didn’t try it, but I’m sure you can get a great deal.

Great prices, breakfast, dinner, and company. The host's good intentions, attention to detail, plus efforts to accommodate and comfort guests were exceptional, i.e. providing maps, bikes and detailed instructions for getting around and shopping. Also, Osa is near a beautiful beach, a walk or bike ride away where visitors can swim and relax. A pleasant restaurant with good prices is nearby the beach. A chocolate factory is also a bike ride away. The host led us to a unique treehouse in a jungle setting rife with birds and monkeys. Internet access, too.

Templo del Tiger is a truly special place—more than just a hostel, it’s an experience. The room was simple and clean, but what makes this place exceptional is the atmosphere and the people it attracts. The common areas are stunning: a peaceful yoga shala, a well-equipped shared kitchen with a large communal table that fosters great conversations, and direct access to the river for a refreshing dip. The location is unbeatable. You’re essentially in Corcovado, with private trails at Bolita just a short walk away, leading to breathtaking waterfalls. Dos Brazos is a tiny, off-the-beaten-path community, and the immersion in nature here is unparalleled. Getting there was easy thanks to the clear guidance from the hosts—colectivo works well, but if you have a car, that’s even simpler. Beyond the beauty of the space, what truly sets Templo del Tiger apart is the passion and dedication of Negar and Gwendal. They are more than just hosts; they are teachers, visionaries, and stewards of this magical place. The work they’ve put into transforming the land, including a thriving food forest, is inspiring. Their warmth and knowledge create a welcoming, deeply enriching environment. I can't recommend this place enough—if you’re looking for a unique, nature-immersed stay with incredible people, this is it.
