We were travelling form Costa Sol to Santander so this was a ideal area to stop for the night. The town was very very small, in fact it only had one Restaurant. The hotel was very comfortable but that was not why we give it such high marks. The (only) staff member said the Hotel restaurant was closed but the only towns restaurant was only 300 metres away. As snow was forecasted we decide to eat early (7pm) so set off to the restaurant. On arrival we found it shut so returned to the Hotel. The staff member ( I wish I took his name) was surprised but offered to cook us some pork loin rather than try to get a taxi in the worsening weather. We had an excellent meal with lovely wine and at great value. If you want a lively place don't come here but he went to so much trouble and would not except a tip as we left.

Great location and excellent apartment hosts were very welcoming, was only stoping over one night on my travels but would like to re-visit to get to know the area better which at first sight is beautiful with rivers and valleys to explore in summer and even a small ski restort in winter.

This is a most wonderful place to stay. Great welcome, very clean and everything you need. Ideal base for walking and sightseeing in the local very historic towns. Sunsets are amazing and the sky at night so clear you can see the stars and the milky way. The silence is golden.
