Cheap hotels in Tamale

I stayed here for almost a month and tried AirBnB and other hotels in Tamale before. Compared to all other options, this is by far the best value you can get. A small room is 250 GHS and a big room 300 GHS. The location is extremely clean, the rooms are bright with a lot of sunlight, the managing receptionist is very courteous and professional, and the hotel is right in the center of Tamale. Due to the double double glazed windows (IRRC), the noise from the main street was reduced considerably. The mattress and pillows were comfortable. Notably, there were no issues with electricity. At the AirBnB around Tuunayili Last Stop where I stayed for 2 months previously (same price), blackouts were a huge issue - about 3 times a week, for several hours. The record was 18 hours no electricity. At Gidi Lodge, the personnel is using backup generators. All hotels and AirBnBs in that price range won't use backup generators to save fuel. For a backup generator, you usually have to pay at least 50€ or more per night. The internet at the Gidi Lodge was fine, and the water was also running (which is not to be taken for granted). Overall, this is an exceptionally well-run hotel. After moving to the next town, I really miss Gidi Lodge. Anyone visiting Tamale should definitely book this place.

Host is very friendly and keeps the apartment neat

Ibrahim and his family were amazing and helped us in everything we needed- finding a place to do money transfer, finding the correct station for our next destination, helping us getting to the station with many bags, helped us with finding stores that open later at evening when we just arrived, and was very wellcoming and nice about everything we asked. The apartment is big and spacious and with a nice yard to it (sharing the yard with Ibrahim brother's family (was also nice and interesting). The place is not in the middle of the city and it give some peace and quiet time but there is a nice pub (king david) in a walking/yellow-yellow drive distance with live shows on friday and saturday nights. Was sooo nice and didn't want to leave!

Almost everything about this property was near perfect. Nice rooms,welcoming and very serviceable staff especially the manager who was always available to aid and support whenever I called upon him.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Meals were very delicious. Their rooms were neatly kept and properly furnished. When I requested to be served breakfast in my room, I was surprised that the service came at no extra charge. I highly recommend Best Lodge to anyone travelling to Tamale. I can't wait to return to the Hotel.
