I booked one night stayed for six nights! 😃 ⚪ First of all Don Nalogy island - Google map shows this island but does not include name. ✅ If you use Organic Maps, the name is there. It can help you while traveling. The map works offline. 💠Very quiet, peaceful place. No WiFi, you can make a stop in your life here. 👉Phonephet the owner is amazing, friendly person with many idea's. He is helping local kid's, if you wanna help, have skills, you can teach English and play with local kid's. Doing some more small activities. As volunteer you want pay for the room. _

A place like Don Som riverside guesthouse is probably what you dream of when you think about visiting an island in the middle of the Mekong! The expression "off the beaten path" doesn't even make it justice. Away from the tourist trail and nestled between small villages in the island of Don Som, it gives you the chance to get the true local Lao experience. This is truly a hidden gem. The friendliness, hospitality and generosity of the owners, Sander and Tanoi, are comparable to none. They really do make you feel at home. They took good care of us made our stay at their place an unforgettable experience.  Besides that, what we appreciated the most was how environmentally-conscious they are and how little their footprint and impact on the island are.  All of this adds to the feeling of ease and peace that washes upon you once you set foot on the island.  We would definitely visit Don Som there again if we ever get the chance to visit Lao in the future.

Amazing place. Wonderful location. Ta the owner and his family are so lovely. Their restaurant is the perfect place to sit and have a sunset cold beer!! Ta will pick you up from pier and drop you off. The bungalows are perfect. We swam across the river right in front and it was lovely. Great Indian Nextdoor too!!!

Excellent location right near the dropoff and near all the restaurants. Staff is awesome and really inviting. Location is right on the water (in private upgraded room) with a balcony to watch the sunset. Well worth it. Would highly recommend. AC worked great.

Of the area it was to us the best — a pristine pool and a nice shaded area on the river for watching the sunset. Breakfasts were generous and the staff super helpful (with excellent English). We walked to the two different waterfalls on different days, and it’s easy to pop over the bridge to Don Det. Lots of restaurants in the area, too. Dry relaxing
