Akwaba lodge is located at the middle of Isla Solarte about a 10 minute boat ride ($10/person) from Bocas del Toro. It is on a hill overlooking the water and Isla Bastimentos Breakfast is included in your stay. Lunch dinner and beverages are available at a very reasonable price. The lodge is an eco style lodge surrounded by jungle. Though there are no hiking trails through the jungle you are serenaded by the sounds of birds. Kayaks, SUP and snorkeling equipment is available for your use. Your host and their children are wonderful and will do anything to make your stay a pleasant and wonderful experience. Things to know, the lodge is off the grid with good WiFi and does not have AC, but we were comfortable with our open windows and ceiling fan. The lodge accepts credit cards, but tours and water taxis are cash only so bring US dollars. Side trips to Red Frog Beach and Green Acres Chocolate are a must. Pack insect repellent and anti-itch cream.

Super nice property in a quiet jungle paradise on Bastimentos Island. Very well maintained garden and guest cabins with everything available to enjoy nature like a snorkeling spot right in front, a jungle loop hiking trail and free use of good kayaks and SUP boards. A sloth was hanging out with her baby in a tree next to the restaurant and it is easy to spot the red frogs nearby, see amazing corals and fish in the snorkeling spot and other wildlife. The owners are extremely nice and the food was amazing every day.

Pure Roots is a magical place! You are in the jungle and see all kinds of birds and wildlife, but you still have all of your comforts, like a nice bed, a beautiful relaxing space with a deck and hammock, a clean bathroom and hot shower. Jen cooks amazing dishes and always has the coffee on when you arrive for breakfast. She accommodates your dietary needs and the food includes lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. You can even watch her machete a fresh coconut for you to drink from, to get an electrolyte boost! I stayed for 5 nights.

The bungalow is spacious and has a private deck with access to the water. The hammock was a happy surprise. We enjoyed using the kayaks, paddleboards, and snorkeling equipment. A beautiful place to stay for beach lovers. Highly recommended A++

All of the special attentions of Carmen and Marcel to make you feel at home. In our case, the special skills of Carmen to adapt breakfast and dinner to our special diet restrictions and alkergies. The property is as described. Lots of storage space so you can unpack. Great kitchen. They are very attentive to your comfort. We had one of the air conditioners break down when it was determined that is could not be repaired they had it replaced right away. It is only really needed in the evening and night time for comfort and sleeping. During the day open the doors and windows and the breeze is great. A very comfortable home and a great place to unwind.

    Location was great. Host allowed us to use the kayaks for free. Also we were able to do a tour of the location and managed to see some little red frogs and a sloth. The dinner was heavenly natali can coook amazingly well.
