simple and to the point; no breakfast; no need to interact with staff with the check-in method used; comfortable beds! great idea for the property; would love to visit again when it is not -15 degrees out to see the property more

The historical Wenzil Taylor Building was the perfect stay for my mini vacation to northeast Iowa. My room was clean, quiet, comfortable and had all the amenities I needed, and more. Josh (the owner) and his staff were very friendly and eager to make sure everything was just right for my stay. The bar and restaurant have a great ambience - dining in a tunnel was a very cool 'first' for me - the service was great, and the food was fantastic (I recommend the fire braised ribs). The location is a perfect home base for trips to nearby attractions, including the Bily Brothers Clock Museum just a few doors down the street, the World's Smallest Church near Festina, IA, the Norman Borlaug birthplace and boyhood farms, and all the natural beauty northeast Iowa has to offer. The Wenzil Taylor Building is a definite must if you want a clean, comfortable, relaxing place to stay.
