Location was excellent - just outside the East Gate and a 20-minute walk from the train station. We took a Yandex for 14,000 som (US $1.20) because of the heat and luggage. The madrasah is very atmospheric - we climbed up the minaret for a wonderful view of Khiva. (Steps are very steep, so be very careful). Rooms open onto the courtyard. Ours was very nice with an en-suite bathroom. Airconditioning and fridge worked great - very much appreciated in the June heat (30-35C)! Breakfast buffet from 8 am - 10 am had a good selection. Wifi was decent. Staff were friendly and competent.

The location is nice - within the old town (the fortress), everything is in walking distance. The staff is kind and hospitable, gave me some advice about sunset, etc. The room was new, clean and spacious. The breakfast - big and delicious. The staff kept my luggage after checking out and also I managed to hang my laundry during the day. Would stay again!

The hotel is quite new, and is located at a convenient distance from the main attraction of the city - the old town - Itchan Kala,which can be easily reached by a leisurely seven/eight minute walk. The hotel staff is extremely hospitable and communication with them is a breeze, particularly for English language speakers. Both the partners of the hotel readily provided useful information about the city itself, recommendations on the best places to eat and interesting sites to visit.
