Ric and Peta went to every effort to make us comfortable during our stay, be it their clear instructions to finding the room, personalised breakfast orders, lovely morning chats and even a lift to where we needed to go on our final rainy morning. Minnie the dog is a delightful addition to the home. It's so peaceful to hear the water mill gently running in the background and you open the curtains each morning to the total wonderland views of the River Mole and Box Hill. The bed was extremely comfortable and the house so inviting and well cared for.

The 56 characterful bedrooms all have private bathrooms, wifi, Bramley toiletries and baked treats on arrival. The pub is very family friendly and a number of rooms accommodate dogs. On the edge of the Surrey Hills AONB, with a direct train link to London and Gatwick Airport just 12 miles away, the local attractions of Denbies Vineyard and Chessington World of Adventures are all within easy reach by car. If you want to be treated like royalty and get the best value for your money, come to the White Horse. It was my husband's birthday, but I never hoped that staying in a hotel could make this day so special. Needless to say that the hotel itself is magnificent, the room was fantastic, very beautiful and comfortable etc. But it's the staff's work and the management's choices that make this place stand out. At the pub's restaurant we were served delightful and adventurous (and very moderately priced) 100% vegan food (vegan English pie!!!) coupled with two free glasses of Prosecco for the occasion (they kindly replaced them with drinks of our choice since we don't drink), which made our evening. The room was full of charm, had a lot of treats for the evening tea and a hand-written card, and in general the hotel kept pleasantly surprising us at every corner. The full English breakfast was also adapted for our vegan needs. I'm looking forward to coming back and giving my parents-in-law a gift stay as well, because after our visit I can be sure to recommend this place to the most special people and be sure they will have the time of their lives here.
