On the outside you don't really expect quite what you get once you enter. The place is very new and modern, perfectly clean and tidy. And the views, those views of the nearby lake and the mountains in the distance are just out of this world. There are two big windows in the living room from where, sitting on the sofa, one could relax and breathe in the beauty of the nature. The place has everything one might need, plus even more. Aside from the full stack kitchen, the very comfortable bed, the nice bathroom and the good size living room, power sockets everywhere you need one, the owners have also provided a hair dryer, several board games, some additional hygienic products and a very easy to understand sorting of the waste with separate buckets, something that tourists need guidance as every country has their own rules. Of course, free parking is available in front. The villa is just 6 minutes away by car from this beautiful town at the sea, with its famous lighthouse at the top of a hill. Our last 2 nights of our trip and our best accommodation! Fabulous location and views (Northern lights from the warm comfort of our room through the huge windows). Very stylish and premium fixtures and fittings, lots of lovely details. Exceptionally comfortable bed and pillows.

Beautiful and quiet location even for several days, even a week. Fully equipped, comfortable and quiet apartment. Very calming view of the harbor. Wifi is also excellent for work. Parking is available at the back of the house at the end of the street right by the sea (you need to go around a block of houses, it's in the photo, but at night and in a blizzard it may not be immediately obvious).

All the shared areas were welcoming and our individual room was very nice, they even have a towel warmer in the bathroom. The location is perfect and the town is so quaint. We found out that we needed to make a reservation for dinner because there are only 3 restaurants we were told. We thought because the busiest season was over that we would be ok, but I guess not when the options are limited. Which makes sense. You check in for this stay is at red barn looking building across the street. When you check in she can make you a dinner reservation if you didn’t do so ahead of time. We ate at Narfeyrarstofa just 2 doors down. It was so cozy and the food and atmosphere were outstanding! We also paid extra to have them make us breakfast in the morning. It was well worth it! It was delicious and the presentation was picture perfect ! We had a great night in this picture perfect little town and it was a great place to stay before we headed to the westjfords. You can also take the ferry from here to the westjfords if you’d like.

I spent only one night at this guesthouse, but I had a really great time. The position is excellent in the middle of the town with a wide space where to park the car. The room was clean, cozy and had plenty of space; the same for the living room where you can just sit on the sofa or the armchair and enjoy the view. There are three bathrooms, two of them with a shower. The kitchen is fully equipped. Additionally, it was very easy to communicate with the host, who promptly gave instructions about the check-in. I highly recommend this place if you're travelling around Snæfellsnes.

Out of 7 times visiting Iceland, we never stopped in Stykkisholmur - this was long overdue. I think we picked the perfect place to enjoy this town, as Monika was an outstanding host. We pretty much had the guesthouse all to ourselves, as a group of 7 people. We enjoyed all the nice touches from the owner, all the little extras like some food in the fridge, 2 types of coffee to choose from in the morning, and the games and books in the living room. We were a bit in a rush to continue our tour and head back to Keflavik the next day, which was our only regret as we could not enjoy the guesthouse a bit longer.

Located 6 km from Stykkishólmur, Helgafell provides a garden and free WiFi. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom. Nice place with beautiful views, comfortable beds, heating, dog Molly who was our guide to nearby hill:)
