Compact but purpose built so everything worked really well. Good lighting, comfy bed, view from dining table excellent. Contacting host very easy. Great to have basics such oil, pepper, salt and sugar.

This is one of the best property we stayed in Iceland. I knew i was keeping the best for last and it indeed was. Spectacular view, contemporary design with modern setup and top notch quality. In a fabulous location. The host was brilliant. We had some trouble opening the door and they were there within a few minutes to help. We got in and it was so warm, clean and comfortable. Couldn't have asked for better.

We had a wonderful stay! The apartment is very spacious, clean, and extremely comfortable. It is fully equipped with everything you might need, which made our stay very convenient. Perfect choice for 4 people. The location is excellent as well, close to everything we wanted to see and do. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

All the shared areas were welcoming and our individual room was very nice, they even have a towel warmer in the bathroom. The location is perfect and the town is so quaint. We found out that we needed to make a reservation for dinner because there are only 3 restaurants we were told. We thought because the busiest season was over that we would be ok, but I guess not when the options are limited. Which makes sense. You check in for this stay is at red barn looking building across the street. When you check in she can make you a dinner reservation if you didn’t do so ahead of time. We ate at Narfeyrarstofa just 2 doors down. It was so cozy and the food and atmosphere were outstanding! We also paid extra to have them make us breakfast in the morning. It was well worth it! It was delicious and the presentation was picture perfect ! We had a great night in this picture perfect little town and it was a great place to stay before we headed to the westjfords. You can also take the ferry from here to the westjfords if you’d like.

We were there with one other family and really enjoyed interacting with them. The view, kitchen and washing machines were excellent. Check in was efficient and communication with the hosts was easy.

Our host, Monika, is serious about the business, willing to help us to know a few places we didn't know about. Of course just these few words of mine cannot describe her personality.

Located 6 km from Stykkishólmur, Helgafell provides a garden and free WiFi. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom. Fun dog. Good protector against the swans and ducks by the lake.
