Shikishima is a hidden gem ryokan just short train ride outside of Imabari. The staff were extremely kind and I feel their level of service is above and beyond the cost to stay. I was able to enjoy a divine soak in their bath after a long day of cycling and the host carefully washed and folded my laundry for a very low fee. I enjoyed speaking Japanese with the host and helping some other English-speaking guests communicate with her too! A truly wonderful experience. My travelling partner and I loved the rice balls and local mikan orange for breakfast. Simple but delicious food, and clearly made with love using local ingredients. I wish I could have stayed for another night and enjoyed the evening meal too. The host was so friendly and made many suggestions for our trip when we shared our plans. I look forward to coming back to Shikoku and visiting the places she talked about. Thank you!

We chose plus+ during our cycling trip. We stayed one night and it was a great choice for us. We were able to watch the sunset from our room, it was beautiful. The owners provided information on the area and helped us to make dinner reservations. The room was comfortable; had a kettle, microwave and fridge. Both my friend and I thought the beds were comforable.

Guest house tokonoma on yugeshima and the 3 islands its connected was by far the highlight of our holiday. Forget about the shimanami kaido. Go to yugeshima, ride the loop there and do the yumeshima kaido and disappear into a real life ghibli movie. These 4 connected islands are absolutely stunning and so serene and quiet they dont even have traffic lights. The people are so kind, the views are breathtaking, and you are virtually the only tourist! This is a very rare experience. Yasu san is a great host, he helped us get the most out of the short time we had on the islands and he’s just overall a very nice person. The guests were great to, good vibes all around.

Komobuchi village is a very nice and relaxing place. With my friends, we went there for two days and we had an amazing time. You really feel at home in this house. I think the highlight of this place is Nakajima-san, the owner. He has a very bright and cheerful personality and he made us really feel at ease. We had very interesting conversations and it was very nice to have him around. I recommend this place to everyone going in Shikoku, even if the location is a bit far from Uwajima city. If I have the chance, I would go back again!
