Now my second time and my go for place to stay on this beautiful island. i enjoy the tatami room, but also there is one room with a western bed. a kitchen with everything what is needed to prepare food and tea / coffee. Very peaceful surroundings with a foot bath right out side our room. A very clean, spacious and traditional Japanese style room. The futons were nice and thick, making for a very comfortable sleep. Our host was very friendly and gave us a great recommendation for dinner.

Located in Amami, 800 metres from Higashi Beach, みーまん奄美 provides accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking and a bar. The property itself was amazing! There is a lovely common space where you can cook and hang out! The beach right down the street is beautiful and empty and you can rent so many different water activities! Only thing: restaurants around the place are often closed or far away, you can take the bus there (which is going every half an hour until ~19:00) or make sure you have at least something you can eat ready at the hostel so in case you don't find something you are settled. There is a convenience store right next to the hostel.

Our host was very kind and thoughtful, ensuring that our stay was comfortable and that we had everything that we needed. Our room was spatious and had plenty room to hang our clothes after doing the laundry. The location was convenient with the bus stop right across the street and delicious meals in the neighborhood.

The view of the ocean was truly spectacular, it felt almost like we were in the ocean, with just the sound of the waves.
