The onsen is one of the best I experienced in larger hotels like this. It is a very nice oasis to come back to after a long day. I particularly liked that they also have a sauna. The location is ideal. There are lots of restaurants and bars literally right outside the hotel, the lake and the castle are both just a short stroll away. If I come back to Matsue, I will stay here again for sure.

Located in a quiet alley in view of the Matsue Castle, our host Emi provided a warm welcome and was very helpful in suggesting (in English) interesting places to visit in the area. Our tatami room was clean and comfortable with AC and free WiFi. The kitchen provided a refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster oven, tea pot and tea, a table and chairs, and kitchen sink.

Went for deluxe room with seating area and water views, and were rewarded with two evenings savoring the spectacular sunsets over the lake for which Matsue is known. Dinner in restaurant Willows very nice—be sure to make reservation when you book. We got in one night, but the night we arrived it was booked out, like many places in the city.
