Starlight Mountain Lodge is a recently renovated guest house in Sigchos, where guests can make the most of its water sports facilities and fitness centre. The host, Victor, was so helpful and patient with my questions. The bed was comfortable, the setting was gorgeous. Also the food!!! There Was so much of it and it kept coming. This was the best food I've eaten on this trip so far.

Adrien provided an abundance of information about the local culture and volcanos, and organized a day trip to Cotopaxi with a local guide. The lodge is also a fully functioning farm with pigs, llamas, goats, chickens, horses, and most endearing to us, dogs. Anouk was always waiting for us in the doorway to throw the latest piece of wood she had found. The bed we slept in was very comfortable with a heated blanket and an additional heater in the room. There was a firepit in our room that we regrettably didn't end up using, but it's there for those who enjoy fireside relaxation. Adrien prepared breakfast and dinner each day for us, all of which were filling and delicious.

What an amazing experience! We loved every minute of our stay at Chimborazo. The lodge is unbelievable - it’s been build with so much thought and care. You could lose yourself in the amazing climbing memorabilia for weeks. It’s just stunning. And we loved sitting by the fire just relaxing and meeting other guests. And our room with the view of the mountain was sensational. The food was great - and we enjoyed the whole dining experience. The location was breathtaking. To be in such a remote location and to have access to Chimborazo was a wonderful experience and one we really appreciated. And to be so close to alpacas as was also a treat. So it was an incredible experience all round - made even better by the wonderful team of people working there. They were all sensational.

Set in Cotopaxi National Park, 6 km from the entrance, Chilcabamba Lodge has comfortable rooms charming with rustic-style décor. A daily breakfast with cereals and fruits is included and there is an on-site restaurant with regional cuisine. The lovely staff, the great view, good food and there’s much to do. We would absolutely love to come back. Stayed for three nights and that was perfect!
