All very comfortable and a short drive or easy bike into “ downtown” Bourg D’Oisans. Well sited for Alpe D’Huez. Everything we hoped for.

Located in Le Bourg-dʼOisans and only 50 km from Galibier, WhispeRive Lodge - le vert aux bords de rive provides accommodation with river views, free WiFi and free private parking. We were so lucky to discover this property which became available just before the Tour de France 2022. Spotted it, and grabbed it on the same day it became available. Walking distance to the town along the beautiful promenade along the river (Le Bourg d'Oisans, departing point for Stage 13, 20 minutes) and the legendary slope of Alpe d'Huez. Brand-new chalet so well equipped with hospitality and attention to detail by the friendly host Melanie, next to the river, surrounded by the tall steep mountains. Lovely terrace with table and chairs outside of the kitchen overlooking the beautiful scenery, perfect place to have breakfast or evening drinks. When we came back late at night after an unusually hot day (33c) the house was boiling and we had to leave the windows open for a while, but the bedroom at the back remained cool and we had no problem sleeping. The amazing hospitality of our host Melanie, who introduced us to her neighbour having a garden party at the bottom of Alpe d'Huez where we were warmly welcome. I have no hesitation in recommending this place for both winter and summer. We will be back.
