Locally-owned, slice of heaven in Bukit Lawang. The location is incredible.. quiet spot next to the river, but just a 3 min walk to the center. The service and warmth of the staff is next level.. The restaurant on site has amazing views and food. We booked our 2 night jungle trek directly with Green Travelodge, and we are sooo glad we did. We had the BEST experience in the jungle. Omar and Jon, our guides, knew the jungle and animals so well. We saw soooo much: orangutans, gibbons, pig-tailed macaque, lots of small critters and birds.. and so much more. It was a dream. Adan, the chef, was a magician. He made the best meals we have ever had.. the three guys became like family. We are so happy we booked here.. and will definitely be back soon.

They arrange everything so well and take such good care of you, from the airport to your stay at the Garden Inn and especially during the jungle trekking. We did the two days one night trekking with Jerry, Rudy & Abdi. The guides are very funny, knowledgeable about everything and Abdi’s food was amazing! The trekking was tough but we had so much fun and saw many orangutans and other animals. Unforgettable experience and definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Indonesia! After the trekking we spent another night at the Garden Inn and did the village tour with Pindu, perfect way to learn more about the local community! He also let us make our own tempeh and gado gado, which was a lot of fun. If you are planning to visit Bukit Lawang, we would recommend to book everything with the Garden Inn team. On The Rocks Bungalows, Restaurant and Jungle Trekking Tours er staðsett í Bukit Lawang, við jaðar Mount Leuser-þjóðgarðsins og býður upp á gistirými frá upphafsstað frumskógargöngu, fjarri fjölmennum... Great staff, all inquiries solved, felt like home. Family atmosphere, great food and view. You need to be quite fit to get there though :)

The accommodation is set in the forest across the rope bridge close to a transport hub and local shops, cafes where u can buy snack and drinks were u are supporting the local community. The room was clean and well presented the shower had tepid water which is exactly what is required. Mosquito net proved over the bed. The restaurant venue is hi completely constructed with bamboo it is open and airy with a lovely view of the river it also has a great food menu and bar with good service, the Wi-Fi in this area is very good, there is no Wi-Fi in the rooms which we enjoyed :-) Breakfast was nice and plenty of coffee. It’s only a 20m walk down to the river for a lovely swim. We did a single day’s trek in to jungle booked through the hotel after arrival. We walking from the lodge, we saw 5 Orangutans and the Alpha Male plus another 3 different type’s of monkeys all this was in the first few hours, the lunch was nice fruit and rice our guide was Aldo who was young but very professional ( highly recommend) he was smartly dressed fully equipped with a first aid kit ( leeches) and also spoke English it was a pleasure to be in his company. We really enjoyed our stay of 3 nights thanks to all the staff We were also there over the weekend no karaoke from across the river
