We spent 19 nights travelling around Madagascar and Anki Lodge was hands-down our favourite place. The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and always smiling – they really made us feel at home. But the absolute highlight was the food: honestly the best meals we had during the entire trip! Fresh, delicious, and full of flavour every single day. The lodge itself is set in a beautiful, peaceful environment with a lovely garden and a great swimming pool – perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Special mention to the owner who is wonderful: warm, attentive and clearly passionate about making every guest’s stay special. Wonderful small hotel/guesthouse on a remote beach in Nosy Be. Transport from the airport involved both car and boat. We were a group of three, with my spouse, myself, and my 20 year old daughter. Our room and the grounds were absolutely beautiful, with traditional thatch roofs on many of the structures, and both covered and uncovered outdoor common spaces to have meals and relax by the ocean. There was a local band of lemurs. There was a beautiful stretch of pebbly beach with the huge tide shifts common in the area and amazing sunrise views. We ate all meals at the hotel, which featured local ingredients and seafood. The young chef checked in on diet preferences. We arranged all activities directly with Jean Michel, including a boat transport and guided walk in the Lokobe Nature Reserve (where we saw several different types of lemurs, chameleons and frogs, and a boa!), and a boat trip to Nosy Tanikely to snorkel a beautiful, living reef and walk up to the lighthouse on the top of the island.

With gardens and an outdoor pool, Loharano Lodge is located on the island of Nosy-Be, along the northwest coast of Madagascar. The hotel offers a library and a sun terrace.

The location is amazing (like all the near islands). Stuff was super friendly and helpful. Great excursions. Great value for money. The hotel is basically a paradise. We would definitely come back.
