I liked everything! The atmosphere is quite and relaxing. You feel as in the family, and a very accepting family! Everything you need is provided for you; Fred and Espi really make your life comfortable. In addition, the wonderful nature around, and you can get kayaks to go to the nearest island to make snorkeling and to see corals and colorful fishes...
If you need a rest after the long working year, it is the best place you can choose. No noise, no transport, no crowds, the view of ocean, a very clean beach near the stay. We had a walk around the island, and the best and cleanest beach was near our stay. The food that the owners provide was delicious, everything was home-made, including the bread that I couldn't stop to eat it. I have a food allergy, and Espi cooked for me individually so that I could eat without worrying about it.
It is the place that I would like to return there each year! I just want to thank Fred and Espi, his wife, for this wonderful time!

The location of the homestay is the best attraction. The beach is really right infront of the homestay and we can see the beach from the veranda of the homestay. In the morning, we practically have the beach to ourselves.
During the night, we experienced a few blackouts. I think this is not the owner's fault. However, the owner provided us with portable solar lamp for our use in the house, which helped a lot.
We really enjoyed our stay at this homestay and hoped we can come back another time.

This has become one of my favourite destinations during my trip to Sabah, Borneo. The moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed by the staff and were offered refreshments like tea, fruit and other nice sweets.
The room was spacious and beautifully designed and it made me feel at home. I also appreciated that the staff already turned on the AC which made the arrival process even better.
The sunrise and sunset were beautiful and wish we could have spent another night if it was up to my travel itinerary. Moreover, we were able to do our laundry here and the staff folded and ironed it without any surcharge, such kindness!
The food was very good including both dinner and breakfast, it was like my grandma would have made it.
Overall, I would come back here again if I am ever given the opportunity.
Bilit
Accessible only via a 600-step staircase, the property is located adjacent to the Kinabatangan Forest Reserve. Guests will have access to some of Sabah's most unique wildlife. Boat cruises and jungle-trekking activities are included in every stay. This is not just a ‘business’, it is a passion! Jason and Gert are sharing a piece of the rainforest to help travelers experience wildlife, insects and plants in their natural habitat. Jason and Gert have created a safe and relaxing environment for all guests to experience true nature. The cabin has wood walls and floors - simple design and furnishings, and so comfortable. There are 2 chairs on the balcony, outside of each room, to enjoy the local flora and fauna. The daily schedule is designed for 2 nights, but we wanted some additional quiet time in the jungle so stayed for 4 nights. Jason made sure that we received different meals for lunch and dinner - he really works to make all meals special! The banana pancakes with homemade caramel sauce is phenomenal! The dining room (with ceiling fans) is also a place that you can hang out - have a coffee, read, play cards, visit and/or observe your surroundings. There is always a pitcher of cold and refreshing water waiting for you. There is a terrace off the dining room (no fans) with benches and small tables - great to look out over the landscape. We went on an amazing evening boat cruise every evening (included in the package). The optional sunrise river cruise starts at 5:30 am - beautiful and quiet (additional small fee). During our cruises, our guide/captain Rodel helped us find Pygmy elephants, crocodiles, hornbills, kingfishers, Silver Leaf monkeys, Proboscis monkeys and macaque monkeys. We absolutely loved our time on the Kinabatangan River! Jason, Gert and staff are so calm, friendly and informative. A once in a lifetime experience/place to enjoy nature and learn about/observe amazing Borneo animals in the wild!

We came to see Orang Utangs in the wild, wishing not to disturb them in their homes and approach passively.
We got so much more. This camp is privately run by someone who keeps it natural rainforest and doesn't sell to someone making a palm oil farm from it. The people in this camp TRULY care about the rainforest, the animals, and their visitors. Main woman Linda makes sure you have absolutely everything you need at all times. Of course, you are in the middle of the jungle, so wifi only in the common area (but there is wifi in the middle of the jungle!) and there is no jaccuzi. But once you're over that it is 100% perfection!
A true rural jungle experience!
We stayed 3 nights and already saw the big 5 the second day!
Food was plenty, very very delicious with seafood and meat/ chicken/ and really exciting vegetarian options too!

Beautiful place in a great location. We liked the chalet as well as the garden and really enjoyed the walk up to have breakfast in the nearby hotel.
The absolutely beautiful, clean and comfortable chalets, the tranquil natural setting with wild birds and other animals to watch, the fig trees growing around the wooden walkways, the food, the ideal proximity to the Orangutan and Sunbear rehabilitation centres!
The location, view on the jungle. Quiet, nice wooden bungalows Free shuttle to Orang utans sanctuary and Rainforest Discovery Centre. Terrace overlooking the jungle
Customer services are good. I appreciate that they provide a shutter van to the mall. Upon request, they arrange a shutter for me to the airport. As a solo traveller, it is helpful to provide such services for me.
It has free shuttle to and from the jetty which is a bonus. Rooms are big and has a balcony. Breakfast is good with adequate varieties. The breakfast room is on the top floor and offers a good view of the city. The staff try their best to please us.
I had a really nice stay at Paganakan Dii. The staff were incredible friendly and always ready to help. You can book tours with them. Three times a day there is a free shuttle bus to Sepilok. The food there is really good and they also offer vegetarian options.
I had the whole dorm for me alone. Nice big wooden longhouse with mosquito nets. Basic but good. The food they serve is also nice and the have free shuttle busses to sepilok conservation centre. Staff is very friendly and helpfull.
Immerged in the nature, beautiful wooden platform with a stunning view of the rainforest from where I could spot a couple of hornbills. Good food and acceptable prices, water dispenser. Helpful staff. Useful free shuttle 2/3 times a day to go and back from/to Sepilok rehab centres (orangutans and sunbears).
