We had a fantastic relaxing stay, the bed was huge and comfortable, the rooms were huge and so clean. The outdoor private mini thermal baths really sealed the deal for us, the photos do not do the property or these baths justice, it is absolutely fabulous and we found it very romantic - but families or lone travellers would also love it. It was a very central location and we were able to conveniently park and charge our car outside our flat for free. The reception lady was so helpful, she helped us find a compatible car charger as ours didnt seem to fit their outdoor sockets, nothing was a problem for her and her upbeat pleasant attitude started our stay off on the right foot. I truely can't believe this place was as cheap as it was, it's an absolute steal! I would 100% go back and my fiance agrees with me completely. It was one of the highlights of our North New Zealand road trip in terms of lodging.

I loved the kitchen as it was so well equipped, starting from cutlery to pots and pans and pantry filled with spices.. Beds were so comfortable, and the linen smelled so fresh .. We used the laundry facility and loved the fact that we could dry the clothes out in the line.. We even enjoyed BBQ as there was a facility for that as well.. This lodge has a garden, barbecue facilities, free WiFi and free private parking. Alli and Glynn have done an amazing job in making this place into such a beautiful accommodation. There is so much detail into making the hares nest as comfortable as possible. As soon as our little one walked through the door he was so excited that a bear was reading a book in ‘his bed’. We ordered the platter, I can highly suggest doing so, everything was super yummy. Alli went all out making cookies, bread, jam, chutney and more we would definitely rate hares nest a 10/10. Thanks again for having us.

The spacious holiday home with a balcony and lake views features 4 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, a flat-screen TV, an equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and an oven, and 1 bathroom with a walk-in shower. Towels and bed linen are provided in the holiday home. There is also a seating area and a fireplace. Wow wow wow, this is an amazing property, with upstairs living area. Which has superb views of the lake, and hills surrounding it, the property is modern and spacious and superb kitchen , we decided to eat in each night as this property was so good with great views, . Breakfast is wonderful and Karen will insure you are pleased with everything served . Rob is helpful with area info and a few nights he drive us in to town for dinner . We would definitely stay at this charming lodge again - treat yourself if you are in lake Taupo
