Set the bar so high about hotels in Zanzibar. We moved to another hotel on another part of the island and instantly missed Safaya. Everything was perfect. The best part was the private beach area. It was so easy to access the beach from our room. The beach is safe with a guard there 24/7 making sure no one comes to bother you and even at night we could take walks on the beach without having to worry our safety. The room was spacious and clean and well equipped and the view from the bed of the ocean was beautiful. Even the private pool and hammock in the balcony was such a bonus and so romantic. And the cute swings on the beach were great for photos. Our anniversary was well spent at Safaya. The staff were so friendly and helpful. On our last night we had an amazing dinner on the beach with a live band and it was lovely. We loved our stay so much. This hotel is perfect if you want to relax and just chill at the beach. Would definitely recommend it and come back.

After three nights, we really felt like it was our home away from home. The building is a wonder and itself worth the visit. Joyce and her team were so attentive, personable, and helpful and family-style meals were excellent. Utupoa sits directly on the beach and easily reachable by foot from the village of Matemwe. What a wonderful way for our family to get to know a corner of Zanzibar and to unwind from our adventures. Thank you, Joyce!

I had such a fantastic experience staying at Paje Emerald Escapes! The villas are absolutely beautiful—peaceful, well-designed, and a true slice of paradise. But what truly made the stay unforgettable was the incredible staff. A huge thank you to Leslie, who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. From arranging airport transfers to organizing tuk-tuk shuttles, she was constantly helpful, professional, and incredibly sweet. Her kindness really made me feel at home. I’d also love to give a special shoutout to Salim for helping me out when a few geckos made their way into the villa. He came over right away, was extremely helpful, and so kind throughout. I would absolutely stay here again—not just for the stunning villas, but because the people here genuinely care. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Paje!
