Hotel Comapedrosa, hotel in Arinsal

Set in Andorra’s Arinsal, Hotel Comapedrosa is just 50 metres from the cable car to Vallnord Ski Resort. It offers rooms with cable TV and DVD player.

Andorra's capital was busy when we arrived but the traffic calmed down as we drove towards La Massana and then Arinsal. Hotel Camapedrosa is on the main street of Arinsal, which is a ski resort in the winter but evidently still a lively tourist destination in early May! Our room was a standard twin room but had two of the tiniest balconies I've ever seen - each has only just enough room for a small chair! But they looked over the main street, so great for people-watching. The hotel receptionist was also in charge of the bar and she was friendly and welcoming and rustled up bar snacks for us hungry travellers! Breakfast was included in our room price and served in the bar next morning - very tasty and suitably filling! There is a large free public car park behind the hotel, so parking is easy and there's also a little trail which starts from it. As well as the 'old town' in the capital, we also visited the interesting Hydro-Electric museum in Encamp parish. The lady in the ticket office speaks English and she is very knowledgeable about the history of the museum building.

Hotel Xalet Verdú, hotel in Arinsal

Situated in the mountain village of Arinsal, the hotel is a 15-minute drive from Andorra’s centre and 300 metres from the new gondola lift to the ski slopes.

The hotel is only a few minutes away from the starting point of mountain trails. The bus stop L5 from Andorra is just at the hotel door. The room was very clean, and the staff was superb. We informed the hotel on our early arrival and a nice lady at the reception arranged for us to have the room cleaned and ready an hour before the official check-in. The room was super clean, with great mountain views. There is a swimming pool at the back of the hotel, although the size is definitely for just cooling in the water than for swimming. But children will like it. A plus for a lockbox (save) in the room and an electric kettle.

After the drive through Andorra la Vella Arinsal is a pleasure. Great welcome from the guy on reception, parking great in gated CP next to the chalet. Lift to room and a balcony on the front. Bathroom nice and spacious. Some places to eat and drink in a short walk up the valley.

Family ski trip with a 8 and 6 year old.

Family ski trip with a 8 and 6 year old. The resort is very good for beginners and intermediates. Everyone working here in all areas seemed friendly. We all had ski school which was all at the same time and oddly morning four hours lessons were split to 09:00-12:00 and 15:00-16:00. This meant a lot of time was wasted dropping off kids and getting to lessons/waiting for people to arrive as it was twice per day. And we couldn't really go do anything else if we wanted to attend the afternoon hour lesson. Our instructors were all very good during the lessons though. We also paid for lockers at the top of the gondola but they didn't open till 15 minutes before lessons started 5 minutes away, resulting in a mad rush of lots of people trying to get ski boots on in a small space all at the same time. The resort was not that busy when we were there, but the bars/restaurants on the slopes filled very quickly and it was often a wait to get a table for lunch. Facilities were all pretty good otherwise.

Great resort for skiing at a beginner/intermediate level.

Great resort for skiing at a beginner/intermediate level. Beginners will blossom with fantastic ski schools. Intermediates can ski in Arinsal and take the gondola across to Pal on the other side of the mountain so more choice of skiing. Great bars and food in the restaurants is excellent. And super value for money compared to Other ski resorts. Highly recommend.

    a great family ski destination.

a great family ski destination. Instructors great with children. Pistes varied and very suitable for beginners... children and adults alike. Challenging enough for seasoned skiers who have left their children with the ski school. Good red runs and a black run in Arinsal plus plenty to go at in Pal. Good choice of eating places...La Tosco and the good food factory.

I went for ski and it worked fine.

I went for ski and it worked fine. I liked the way the crew members helped. The tracks were for different skiing skills with great views. I also tried the Pal sector and it was also great. The number of restaurant choices is good. Some places in Arinsal you need to walk in the streets as there is no pavement and I looked for a Pharmacy during the night and I could not find one.

We originally stayed in Arinsal to climb the peaks in 1983...

We originally stayed in Arinsal to climb the peaks in 1983 before the ski development. We have seen many changes since then and not all of it to our liking. The roads are very busy due to the car ownership being so high in Andorra. We would like to see Andorra develop more along the lines of Austria and Bavaria with more development of buses providing transport to the start and end of hill walks. The bus network is actually quiet good but the timetables need more structure around timings, and either subsidised or week long bus passes would be a big help. And bus stops being marked on the maps to the area.

Location is perfect! We had a view on the waterfall with horses grazing below it. Parking is for free and huge and you can start some of the hikes right from the hotel. I think this is absolutely the best price/performance ratio accommodations in Andorra. Breakfast was very good. It was in a form of an open bar with various warm and cold meals - mostly English breakfast style with some traditional Spanish dishes.

The Spa is amazing and our family room (two interconnecting rooms) was lovely. The staff are very friendly and the sports bar is great when you are travelling with young adults. Every night there was fresh food being prepared to order at the grill so that really uplifted the buffet. A great ski hotel.

The food and the kitchen staff were very lovely! Super friendly and helpful! The cleaning staff were attentive and reactive, they deserve all the praise. The hotel is super close to the ski lifts which is the selling point the whole reason we booked the stay. 10/10 for convenience.

Room was a good size for myself and my two children. The added bonus of a balcony was fantastic for airing the ski gear. Loads of hot water and great pressure meant end of day showers were a joy. Free parking at the hotel was great. Private and secured with a barrier.
